"Viola Gertrude Olson 1915-2006 Funeral services for Viola Gertrude Olson, 90, Humansville, MO, were Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mrs. Olson died Saturday, February 11, at Northwood Hill Care Center, Humansville, MO. Viola Gertrude Olson was born May 26, 1915, at Milton, IA, the daughter of William and Minnie (Miller) Schulz. Viola and Sheldon Olson were married October 11, 1947, at Burlington, IA. He preceded her in death on February 13, 1990. Mrs. Olson was also preceded in death by her parents, William and Minnie Schulz; one step-daughter, Martha Louise McChesney; four sisters, two brothers, and two grandsons. Viola is survived by her daughter, Loretta Stephens and her husband Ralph of Humansville, MO; her step-son, James Claron Olson and his wife JoAnn of Waterloo, IA, eight grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Music was provided by Sandra Fenton, vocalist. Musical selections included 'Peace In The Valley' and 'In The Garden'. Casketbearers were Rob Olson, Bill Olson, Brian Stephens, and Danny Martin. "Robert Luther Sizemore 1929-2006 Funeral services for Robert Luther Sizemore, 77, Eureka, were Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at Koup Family Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Hunter of the Jefferson Street Baptist Church and Rev. Diana Hill of the First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in Greeley-Walker Cemetery at Greeley with military honors provided by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Mr. Sizemore died Sunday, February 12, at Greenwood County Hospital. Robert Luther Sizemore was born on January 13, 1929, at Greeley, the son of Robert Oliver and Vona Birdean (Kelsey) Sizemore. He was raised in Greeley and graduated from Greeley High School. After his schooling, he entered the United States Army and served his country with honor and dignity during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam, retiring in 1968. Robert then moved to Bloomington, MN, and worked in general maintenance until 1977 when he moved to Mound City and began his career with Fundcraft Publishing. He transferred with his job to Byhalia, MS, and retired in 1994. In 1996, he moved to Eureka to be closer to his family. Mr. Sizemore was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Beckford; and his parents, Robert and Vona Sizemore. Robert is survived by his son, Raymond Sizemore of Navaree, FL; his daughters, Donna Joles of Wichita and Robin Himes of Eureka; six grandchildren; his brother, Albert L. Sizemore of Buffalo; and his sister, Emma May Hull of El Dorado. A memorial has been established in his name to V.F.W. Post 2712 of Eureka. "Darrell Lee Ulses 1948-2006 Funeral Mass for Darrell Lee Ulses, 57, Lawrence, was Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Westphalia, with Father Tony Blaufuss officiating. Interment was in St. Teresa Cemetery. Mr. Ulses died Sunday, February 12, at Lawrence. Darrell Lee Ulses was born May 13, 1948, at Westphalia, the son of Joseph and Joyce (Mahoney) Ulses. He grew up in Westphalia and later moved to Topeka. He had lived in Lawrence for the past several years. In recent years, he had worked at the recycling plant in Lawrence and also assisted in the delivery of meals to the homebound with the Meals on Wheels program. He enjoyed helping others and made many, many friends through that process and looked forward to seeing each of them several times each week. Mr. Ulses is survived by his brother, Erwin Ulses and his wife Linda of Topeka; his sister, Loretta Bouse and her husband Roy of Emporia; six nieces, relatives, and friends. Music was provided by Linda Ulses. Musical selections included 'On Eagle's Wings', 'Be Not Afraid', 'You Are Mine', and 'Fly Like A Bird'. Interment was in Welda Cemetery. Mr. Boots died Saturday, February 11, at his home. Waylon Scott Boots was born October 24, 1982, at Garnett, the son of Brad and Cindy (Varvel) Boots. He graduated from Crest High School with the Class of 2001 and continued his education at Pittsburg State University in the Electrical Technology Program, graduating in 2005. Waylon enjoyed numerous activities, including playing guitar, snow skiing, fishing, and target practice. He especially enjoyed being with his friends. He was an electrician working for Touchton electric in Pittsburg. Mr. Boots was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clyde Boots; and his uncle, Kenneth Boots. Waylon is survived by his parents, Brad and Cindy Boots; his brother, Evan Boots of Anderson Air Force Base, Guam; his grandmother, Joan Boots of Welda; and his grandparents, Gordon and Donna Varvel of Burlington. Music was provided by Leonard Louk who sang 'Bushwacker'. Casketbearers were Tyler Calahan, Jake Kersley, Marshall Louk, Leland McGraw, Abraham Watt, and James Williams. Page 11, Column 5: "Maurice O. Cummings 1933-2006 Maurice O. Cummings, 72, Olathe, a former Paola resident, died Thursday, January 19, 2006, in Good Samaritan Center in Olathe. He was born September 23, 1933, near Bendena, Kan., in Doniphan County, the son of Everette and Marguerite Barry Cummings. He graduated in 1951 from Garnett High School. He entered the U.S. Navy in April 1952. Maurice was married to Patricia A. Tyrell of Osawatomie from 1956 to 1964. They were the parents of five children, Virginia, Curtis, Sherri, Troy and Bradley. He was married to Carla L. Huff from 1964 to 1977 and they became the parents of two children, Maurice A. and Eileen. He was later married to Betty Hadsall of Paola. Mr. Cummings lived in Paola for 14 years before moving to Olathe. He married Florence M. Seuferling Caray Johnson on Feb. 10, 2001, in Olathe. His occupations included graphic arts, engineering technician, mental health, electronics and private investigating. He was a licensed firearms dealer. He was a published author and poet and was a photographer. During his years of retirement, he was a proofreader for the Olathe Daily News and was a salesman for Simmons Guns in Spring Hill. Mr. Cummings was a member of the Kansas Authors Club, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the American Legion, and the Staff of Potpourri, a national literary magazine. He was also a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Olathe. Preceding him in death was a son, Troy Edward Cummings Tyrell. Surviving are his wife, Florence Johnson of the home in Olathe; three daughters, Virginia a. Kems of Lawrence, Sherri A. Cummings of Topeka and Eileen E. Beard of Olathe; three sons, Curtis D. Cummings and Maurice A. Cummings, both of Gardner, and Bradley J. Cummings Tyrell of Trimble, Mo.; two brothers, Robert A. Cummings of Haysville, Kan., and Donald E. Cummings of Wichita; two sisters, Patricia A. Turner of Wichita and Shirley J. Wilson of Garnett; 17 grandchildren; and seven great- grandchildren.
