Alfred Rockers and Fr. Emil Agostino as concelebrants. Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery. Mr. Strobel died Tuesday, February 14, at Olathe Medical Center. Richard Guy Strobel was born October 2, 1921, at Scipio, the son of John Richard and Anna (Steinbacher) Strobel. He was a lifetime resident of Scipio. Richard was a member of St. Boniface Church, Garnett VFW and American Legion, and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. His passion was his family and farming. He served his nation during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. Richard and Lorene Hatten were married December 27, 1949, at Garnett. She survives of their home. Mr. Strobel was preceded in death by his parents, John and Anna Strobel; his brothers, Michael and Jake; and his sisters, Olivia Feuerborn, Eleanor Lickteig, Edith Harrison, Mary Rockers, Ann Size, and Laura Zaninot. Richard is also survived by his son, John R. Strobel and his wife Cheryl of Garnett; his daughters, Barbara Jan Setter and her husband Kenneth of Belton, MO, and Catherine Jane Kratzberg and her husband Gary of Olathe; his sisters, Bernice Rockers of Ottawa, Hilda Patton of Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, and Ethel Mae Meyers of Overland Park; his grandchildren, Lori Setter, Jerry Setter, Janel Setter, Michelle Beets, Amy Setter, Danette Goss, Christina Kuhlman, Michael Kratzberg, Eric Kratzberg, Lisa Kratzberg, Luke Kratzberg, Jake Strobel, Joe Strobel, and Kyra Strobel; and his great-grandchildren, Nicole Setter, Kaitlyn Beets, Karisa Goss, Abigail Byrd, Cole Setter, Ryley Goss, and Anna Setter. Music was provided by Mary Milner, organist, and the Mader Family and Jake Strobel, vocalists. Musical selections included 'How Great Thou Art', 'Seek Ye First', 'On Eagles Wings', and 'Nearer My God To Thee'. Casketbearers were Jerome Setter, Michael Kratzberg, Jake Strobel, Eric Kratzberg, Joe Strobel, and Luke Kratzberg. Honorary casketbearers were Jerry Rockers, Ivo Feuerborn, Dale Harrison, Carl Lickteig, John Sise, Greg Strobel, Mike McDonald, and Randy Meyer. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Boniface Cemetery. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 2: "Cyril Dean Brownrigg 1928-2006 Funeral services for Cyril Dean Brownrigg, 77, Ottawa, were Saturday, February 18, 2006, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Welda Cemetery. Mr. Brownrigg died early Wednesday morning, February 15, at Ransom Memorial Hospital. Cyril Dean Brownrigg was born March 3, 1928, at Welda, the son of Isaac and Eva (Britton) Brownrigg. He was a graduate of Garnett High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1953. Dean married Iris Plaschka in 1950 and divorced in 1968. He and Joy Martin Frazell were married May 16, 1969, at Huntsville, AR. She survives of the home. He was a member of First Christian Church, Garnett; and the Elks Club, Eagles Club, and American Legion, all of Ottawa. Mr. Brownrigg was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Eva Brownrigg; and his brothers, Gene Brownrigg on February 24, 1999, and Kenneth Brownrigg in 1984. Dean is also survived by his sons, Rodger D. Brownrigg of Emporia, Randy M. Brownrigg and his wife Diane of Ottawa, Rick Brownrigg of Tulsa, OK, and Kevin Frazell and his wife Terri of Woodbury, MN; his daughter, Debra Sylvester and her husband Clyde of Ottawa; his brother, Charles A. Brownrigg of Fairway; his sisters, Margaret (Peggy) Williams of El Dorado and Mary Mace of Richmond; and eight grandchildren. Musical selections included 'How Great Thou Art' and 'Amazing Grace'. Casketbearers were Jason Frazell, Tanner Brownrigg, Travis Brownrigg, Philip Sylvester, Ben Frazell, Mike Brownrigg, Scot Brownrigg, Steve Wilson, and Tony Wilson. Honorary casketbearers were Charles Wayne Brownrigg, Floyd Smith, Bill Powls, Virgil Roberts, Jessica Sylvester, Kathryn Sylvester, and Sarah Frazell. Page 5, Column 3: "Seramae Marshall Post 1907-2006 Funeral services for Seramae Marshall Post, 98, Mound City, were Monday, February 20, 2006, at Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City. Interment was in View Cemetery, Blue Mound. Mrs. Post died Friday, February 17, at Olathe Medical Center. Seramae Marshall Post was born December 3, 1907, at Mound City, the daughter of John and Emma (Orton) Giffin. She was a graduate of Parker High School. Seramae and Edwin Marshall were married on July 31, 1934. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1939. On July 15, 1944, she married Charles Post, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1985. Her years of employment included Register of Deeds of Linn County, Treasurer of USD #346, and Sugar Valley Electric, from which she retired. Seramae was a member of the Federated Church of Mound City; Order of the Eastern Star, where she was past Grand Matron; Mound City Historical Society; and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Post was also preceded in death by her son, Evan D. Marshall; her step-son, Billy Post; five brothers and one sister. Seramae is survived by her son, Marvin Marshall of Toronto, Ontario, Canada; her step- son, Gene Post of Mound City; her brother, Lloyd Giffin of Woodland, CA; her sisters, Erma Bishop of Blue Mound, Deloris White of Tonganoxie, and Pauline Gilroy of Eudora; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City, was in charge of arrangements." "Willis M. Parker 1935-2006 Graveside services and interment for Willis M. Parker, 71, Garnett, were Tuesday, February 21, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Welda Cemetery with Rev. James Skedel officiating. Mr. Parker died Saturday, February 19, at Richmond Healthcare And Rehab LLC. Willis M. Parker was born January 27, 1935, at McKinney, TX, the son of Mack and Fannie Mae (Addington) Parker. He graduated from Welda High School. Willis served in the United States Army with the Combat Engineers for eight years. He was a photographer for 40 years and lived in Irving, TX, until moving to Garnett in 1994. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Fannie Mae Parker; three brothers and one sister. Willis is survived by his son, David 'Tim' Parker and his wife Mary and their children of Ottawa; his daughter, Kathy Parker of Waukesha, WI; and several nieces and nephews.
