Mr. Beddo died Sunday, March 12, at his home in Mesquite, NV. Donal Columbus Beddo was born October 30, 1937, at Mountain View, OK, the son of D.L. and Bertha B. (Butler) Beddo. He and Jeanne Hines were married October 31, 1955, at Quartsite, AZ. Donal and Thomasine "Tomi' M. Aspy were married December 18, 1988, at Carson, CA. She survives of their home. Mr. Beddo was preceded in death by his parents, D.L. (Jack) Beddo on December 13, 1980, and Bertha Butler Beddo on February 17, 1977; his sister, Barbara Ann Beddo Pike in 1991; and a brother who died in infancy. Donal is also survived by his sons, Donal Beddo and his wife Jackie of Princeton, and Duane Beddo and his wife Shea of Harrisonville, MO; his step-son Doug Datria and his wife Mary of Fountain Valley, CA; his daughters, Donna Hermreck and her husband Leon and Dana Hardman and her husband David, both of Garnett, and Dawn Leadbetter and her husband Darin of Ottawa; his step-daughter, Lori Evans and her husband Mike of Roseville, CA; 13 grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two step-great-grandchildren. The family will be present to greet friends following the service at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association. Johnson, 68, Fredonia, retired USDA and state grain inspector, were Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Timmons Funeral Home in Fredonia with Pastor Gary Sherman officiating. Mr. Johnson died Monday, March 13, at Beverly Health and Rehab in Fredonia. Benjamin F. Johnson was born December 10, 1937, at Neodesha, the son of Albert M. and Helen (Fairchild) Johnson. He was a graduate of Fredonia High School and Neosho County Community College. He served with the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. Benjamin was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia. He helped with Meals on Wheels and attended Seniors of S.E. Kansas Ministry. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Benjamin and Betty L. Toon were married November 10, 1961. She survives of their home. Mr. Johnson is also survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Melissa Johnson of Chanute and Garon and Rae Ann Johnson of Garnett; his brother, Steve and wife Mary Johnson of Copan, OK; his grandchildren, Jordan, Zach, Emily, and Tanner Johnson; his sisters-in-law, Sharon and husband Steve Fraser of Fredonia and Marjorie and husband Raymond Reinhart of Minneapolis, KS; his brother-in-law, Alfred R. and wife Joyce Toon of Branson, MO; his aunt, Naomi Taylor of Carthage, MO; and several nieces and nephews. Interment was in Colony Cemetery. Mrs. Atwood died Sunday, March 12, at Moran Manor, Moran, KS. Evlyn Atwood was born July 22, 1923, at Marshfield, MO, the daughter of Alfred and Ruth (Downing) King. She grew up in Marshfield, MO, later living in the Conway, MO area. She had lived in Colony for the last 20 years. Evlyn was a member of the LeRoy Assembly of God Church. She was a seamstress and enjoyed crocheting and fishing. Mrs. Atwood was preceded in death by her brother, Roger Dale King. She was a lifelong Ottawa resident and graduated from Ottawa High School with the Class of 2003. She was a Certified Nurse's Aide, currently attending Neosho County Community College at Ottawa working towards a career as a Registered Nurse. She was a member of Ottawa Church of the Nazarene. Ashley is survived by her parents; her fianc‚, Clayton Haag of Ottawa, her grandmothers, Donna Cottrell of Lane and Lavina Robertson of Osawatomie, and numeorous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Private family inurnment will occur at a later date. Mrs. Smith died Friday, March 10, at St. Luke's South, Overland Park. Betty Margaret Smith was born January 23, 1928, in Anderson County, the daughter of Luther McKinley and Thelma Farina (Swisher) Walters. She attended Longfellow, Irving, and Garnett High School, graduating with the Class of 1946. While attending school, Betty worked at the Garnett Fair Store and Crystal Cleaners. After graduation she worked at H.D. Lee Company in Ottawa and at Kresseges in Lawrence. Betty married Eugene Langner and they later divorced in 1952. On September 27, 1953, Betty and Airman First Class Gale Burt Smith were married at Chapel #1 at Forbes Air Force Base in Topeka. They had 48 years together before his death in 2001. Betty and Gale had three children, Vickie Sue, Jennifer Lynn, and Randy Gale. Betty and Gale lived in Stone Mountain, GA, Decatur, GA, and Jonesboro, GA, while working for the While Advertising Company of Lowell, IN, and the National Sign Company of Ottawa. They moved back to Garnett in 1963. Betty and Gale owned and operated Smith's Grocery in Garnett from 1980 to 1988. They enjoyed their family, traveling, friends, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and playing cards. Mrs. Smith was also preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Thelma Walters; her brother, Charles David Walters; and her sister, Fostina Madelene Walters. Betty is survived by her son, Randy Gale Smith of Lawrence; her daughters, Vickie Sue Moews and her husband Robert of Lane and Jennifer Lynn Smith and her significant other John Aragon of Osawatomie; her brothers, Tom Walters and his wife Alice of Pensicola, FL, and Larry Walters and his wife Betty of Lawrence; her grandchildren, Tamara K. Moews, Misty D. (Moews) Wheeler and her husband Mike, all of Princeton, Jessica L. Smith of Iola, Trevor W. Smith of Ottawa, and Teresa L. Aragon, Elizabeth A. Aragon, and Jonathon G. Aragon, all of Osawatomie; her great-grandchildren, Joshua and Makayla; her niece, Stephanie L. Chamberlain and her husband Dan of Lawrence; and her Aunt Melba L. Brown of Greencastle, IN.
