Crouch, 80, Garnett, are Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at 3:00 p.m. at Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Crouch died Friday, May 19, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care." "Fern A. Millington 1921-2006 Memorial services for Fern A. Millington, 84, Garnett, were Monday, May 22, 2006, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Inurnment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mrs. Millington died Tuesday, May 16, at Richmond HealthCare and Rehab LLC. Fern A. Millington was born November 19, 1921, at Centerville, the daughter of Harry and Ethel Kline. Fern was a homemaker. Fern and Floyd Millington were married February 19, 1975, at Garnett. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1987. Mrs. Millington was also preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ethel Kline; a nephew, Donald Randel; and a niece, Betty Cunningham. Fern is survived by her nieces, Marilyn Staley and her husband David, and Doris Randel, all of Williamsburg; and her nephews, Frank Randel of Coffeyville and Gene Cunningham of Williamsburg. Music was provided by Alan Cunningham. Musical selections included 'In The Garden' and 'How Great Thou Art'. The family suggests memorials be made to the Garnett Public Library or to Midland Hospice. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." "Edna T. Pike 1913-2006 Funeral services for Edna T. Pike, 92, Wichita, formerly of Garnett, were Friday, May 19, 2006, at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Chapel, Wichita. Mrs. Pike died Sunday, May 14. Edna T. Pike was born October 11, 1913, at Garnett, the daughter of Leman M. and Ida (Hart) Turrell. She had one brother, Henry. She graduated from Garnett High School in 1931 and from the University of Kansas in 1925. She taught high school English, journalism, and other subjects in Washington, KS, and Garnett, and attended graduate school during summers in Colorado and at Pittsburg State Teachers College. Edna and Ellis D. Pike, a fellow teacher at Garnett High School from Goddard, were married May 31, 1941. He preceded her in death in 2002. During World War II, while her husband was overseas as a meteorologist with the Army Air Corps, she returned to teaching. After the war, she stayed home to raise three daughters, living with her family in Topeka, Chicago, and St. Louis, and moving to Wichita in 1951. She took leadership roles in a variety of volunteer organizations, including YWCA, Girl Scouts, and PTA, and served as a poll worker for many elections. She was an active member of Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Wichita, Chapter GE of P.E.O., University Club, Friends of the Great Plains Nature Center, and Calligraphy Guild. Mrs. Pike is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Douglas Lindsey and Diana and John Palenz, all of Wichita, and Barbara and Paul Shellito of Wellesely, MA; her grandsons, John Ellis Shellito and Peter Judd Shellito; and her sister-in-law, Marjorie Turrell of Kansas City."
