Frear 1910-2006 Funeral services for Wilbur J. Frear, 95, Centerville, were Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Centerville Community Church with Rev. Nancy J. Snyder, pastor, officiating. Interment was in Centerville Cemetery. Mr. Frear quietly passed away at home in the loving arms of his family Sunday morning, June 4, following a courageous battle with cancer. Wilbur J. Frear was born December 19, 1910, at Centerville to John and Stella (Reed) Frear. He graduated from Parker Rural High School in 1928 and married Maxine I. Huggins on March 28, 1936, in Ottawa. Wilbur lived all his life in Centerville, where he and Maxine could be found six days a week at their store, Frear Feed and Produce. They operated the business for 57 years, retiring in 1985 after selling the business. Wilbur enjoyed his work in the community. He had an eye for invention or improving something and will be remembered for many of his inventions and projects that he leaves behind. Mr. Frear was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Sappington of Overland Park; and his sister and her husband, Lois (Frear) Smith and Perry Smith of Atlanta, GA. Wilbur is survived by his wife, Maxine, of Centerville; his sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Alice Frear of Princeton, and Stan and Mary Frear of Overland Park; his grandchildren, Mike and Kim Frear of Greenwood, MO, Sherry (Frear) and Rueben Vargas of Blue Springs, MO, Joe Frear of Lenexa, John Frear of Prairie Village, and Lora (Frear) and Matt Williams of Lenexa; and his great-grandchildren, Michael Leo, Cassie, Kynzie, Jamie, Denea, and Isabella. He is further survived by his niece and her husband, Jan and Jim Rude of Overland Park; his brother-in law, Paul Sappington of Overland Park; and other relatives and many friends. Music was provided by Regina Broyles, pianist. Musical selections included 'In The Garden' and 'How Great Thou Art' sung by Susie Mahon and 'Just A Closer Walk With Thee' as a congregational hymn. Casketbearers were Kevin Whitcomb, Keith Brownback, Kenneth McGee, Glenn Conner, Joe Olson, and Gary Mahon. Honorary casketbearers were Charles Morrison, Maurice Brown, Ernest McGee, and Donald Whitcomb. The family suggests memorials be made to the Centerville Community Church or the Hospice Care of Kansas Program. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 2: "Wilbur L. Minckley 1911-2006 Graveside services and interment for Wilbur L. Minckley, 94, Colony, were Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Colony Cemetery with Pastor Steve Bubna officiating. Mr. Minckley died Monday, June 5, at Windsor Place in Iola. Wilbur L. Minckley was born October 6, 1911, at Colony, the son of Fred and Maude (Childers) Minckley. He was a farmer and stockman. Wilbur raised draft horses and would demonstrate antique horse-powered hay baling. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and his dogs. Wilbur and Wilma L. Fouts were married February 14, 1940, at Iola. This union was blessed with one son. Wilma preceded him in death on April 16, 2006. Mr. Minckley was also preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Maude Minckley; his brother, Olin Minckley; and his sister, Grace Gillham. Wilbur is survived by his son, Gary Minckley and his wife Sharon of Colony; his granddaughter, Brenda Cress and her husband Lester of Brewster, KS; his grandson, Wayne Minckley and his wife Paula of Lane; and his great-grandsons, Devon Minckley, Dalton Minckley, and Dillon Minckley. Casketbearers were Paul Stephens, Shawn Tiffany, Keith Babcock, Wallace Strickler, Bill Goodell, and Tom Burrow. "Wilbur Dennis Tice 1918-2006 Funeral services for Wilbur Dennis Tice, 87, Crystal City, TX, and Moran, KS, were Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, LLC, in Bronson with Pastor Joe Rei officiating. Interment was in Moran Cemetery. Mr. Tice died Thursday, June 1, at Main Methodist Hospital, San Antonio, TX. Wilbur Dennis Tice was born November 11, 1918, in Oklahoma, the son of John and Nettie (Palmer) Tice. He worked in the auto salvage business in Burlington. Wilbur and Joyce Green were married April 21, 1945. She preceded him in death on January 23, 2003. Mr. Tice was also preceded in death by his parents, John and Nettie Tice; and six brothers and sisters. Wilbur is survived by his daughter, Sherry Lutz of McKinney, TX; his grandson, Marc Lutz of Bronson; and his great-granddaughter, Whitney Starliper of Chanute. Feuerborn Family Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 3: "Donald L. Rossman 1940-2006 Mass of Christian Burial for Donald L. Rossman, 66, Pomona, was Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa. Interment was in Scipio Cemetery. Mr. Rossman died Monday, June 5, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa. Donald L. Rossman was born April 3, 1940, south of Ottawa, the son of John and Agnes (Wolken) Rossman. He grew up and attended the Tappley Grade School near Richmond and graduated from Richmond High School in 1958. Don worked for Ralph Chandler as a cattleman before entering the United States Army. He also worked for the Sunflower Ordinance Depot in DeSoto; General Motors Company in Kansas City, MO; Buildex, Inc. in Ottawa; Commodore Trailers in Ottawa; and the Santa Fe Railroad as a trackman and machine operator for over 15 years in Ottawa. Don and Jeanie Ecord were married on October 19, 1968, in Richmond. They shared over 37 years of marriage. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ottawa; Knights of Columbus, Sacred Heart Council No. 3010; and served on the Greenwood Township Board and the Pomona Recreation Commission. He enjoyed being a dad, spending time with his family, and being very active in his children's baseball and 4-H projects. He also enjoyed hunting pheasant and quail. Mr. Rossman was preceded in death by his parents, John and Agnes Rossman. Don is survived by his wife, Jeanie, of the home; his son, Tim Rossman and his wife Wendy of Williamsburg; his daughter, JoAnna Smith and her husband Wendell of Olathe; his brothers, Jim Rossman and his wife Betty of Albert, KS, Virgil Rossman and his wife Pat of Richmond, Art Rossman and his wife Phyllis of Richmond, Earl Dean Rossman of Richmond, and Robert Rossman and his wife Vi of Princeton; his sisters, Mary Mulrenin and her husband Roger of Fenton, MI, Erma Brown and her husband Dan of Gardner, and Dorothy Shields and her husband Bob of Princeton; his grandchildren, Emma and Molly Rossman, and Taylor Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
