"Ronnie Boyd Sanders 1957-2006 Funeral services for Ronnie Boyd Sanders, 48, Westphalia, were Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Judy Brown officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Sanders died Saturday, June 24, at Stormont- Vail Hospital in Topeka. Ronnie Boyd Sanders was born November 30, 1957, at Austin, TX, the son of Roy Charles Sanders, Sr. and Violet (Franklin) Sanders. Ronnie loved to fish, the outdoors, and watching John Wayne westerns. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. Ronnie and Susan Acosta were married July 25, 1995, at Reno, NV. She survives of their home. Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Violet Sanders. Ronnie is also survived by his son, Robert Burgett of Westphalia; his daughter, April Acosta and her fianc‚, Jody Streeter, of Pittsburg; his brothers, Walter Sanders and Ralph Sanders, both of Missouri, Harold Sanders of Dallas, TX, Jerry Sanders of Bertram, TX, Richard Sanders of Elgin, TX, and Roy Sanders, Jr., of California; his sisters, Carol Jowers and Mary Sanders, both of Bertram, TX, and Helen Wood of Georgetown, TX; his granddaughter, Jessica Figgins of the home; and four more grandchildren. Musical selections included 'Mama I'm Coming Home', 'Simple Man', and 'The Dance'. Casketbearers were Randy Peterson, Jody Streeter, Kevin Lutz, Lloyd Willard, Tom Harris, Art Gilmore, Robert Burgett, and Wyatt Stevens. Memorial contributions are suggested to help defray funeral expenses. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 2: "James D. Mr. Good died Tuesday, June 27, at Golden Heights Living Center. The family will greet friends on Friday from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home." "Mervin Ard 1921-2006 Funeral services for Mervin Ard, 85, Elsmore, are Friday, June 30, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at Elsmore United Methodist Church with Pastor Connie Cox officiating. Interment is in Elsmore Cemetery. Mr. Ard died Monday, June 26, at his home. Mervin Ard was born January 23, 1921, at Elsmore, the son of James G. and Pearl (Shelton) Ard. He married Beverly Johnson on June 6, 1943, at Iola. This union was blessed with seven children. Mr. Ard worked at Sash and Door in Kansas City before farming in Elsmore. He continued to farm for the rest of his life. He also worked as a carpenter and then as a rural mail carrier in the Bronson and Elsmore area for 20 years. Mervin was a member of the Ruritan Club for 40 years, receiving the Tom Downing Award. He also was a member of the Elsmore United Methodist Church and had served on the school boards in Elsmore and Moran. Mervin enjoyed working in his garden in addition to coaching and umpiring many baseball games. Mr. Ard was preceded in death by his son, Larry Ard in 1997; his granddaughter, Lisa Ard in 1991; his parents, James and Pearl Ard; and his brothers, Dewey Ard, Curtis Ard, and Emerson Ard. Mervin is survived by his wife, Beverly, of the home; his sons, Richard Ard and his wife Shirley, and Robert Ard, all of Elsmore; his daughters, Betty Jo Baker and her husband Roger of Minneapolis, MN, Ruth Endicott and her husband Oscar of Fort Scott, Linda Larson of Minneapolis, MN, and Brenda Mills and her husband David of Elsmore; his brother, Melvin Ard of Chanute; his sister, Joyce Mapp of Elsmore; 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren. Music will be provided by Sandy Murrow, organist, and Lloyd Houk, vocalist. Musical selections included 'Daddy's Hands', 'In The Garden', and 'Precious Memories'.
