Turner 1920-2006 Graveside inurnment services for Ruby M. Turner, 86, Garnett, were Saturday, August 5, 2006, at Welda Cemetery with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Mrs. Turner died Wednesday, August 2, at Anderson County Hospital. Ruby M. Turner was born February 13, 1920, at Goodrich, the daughter of Ed and Josephine (Wheeler) Henry. On January 2, 1951, Ruby married Earl C. Turner at Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1985. Mrs. Turner was also preceded in death by her daughters, Patty Thompson, Charlotte Haynes, and Donna Denton; her granddaughter, Denise Bose; two infant sons; her parents, Ed and Josephine Henry; and seven brothers, Norman, Virgil O., Alred, William D., George R., Lester, and Melvin Henry. Ruby is survived by her son, Leslie Turner and his wife Marla of Checotah, OK; her daughters, Carolyn Frazier and her husband Ray of Garnett, and Robbin Badders and her husband Doug of Welda; her sisters, Margie Kueser of Louisburg and Pearl Saffer of Garnett; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Honorary casketbearers were Dustin Harrison, Brandon Gates, Derrick Gates, Bob Hayden, Brian Riley, Don Stockton, Chad Turner, and Andrew Young. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." "Malea Lynn Lutz 1963-2006 Funeral services for Malea Lynn Lutz, 43, Ottawa, were Saturday, August 5, 2006, at First United Methodist Church in Ottawa. Interment was in Osawatomie Cemetery. Mrs. Lutz died Tuesday, August 1, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Malea Lynn Lutz was born February 7, 1963, at Paola, the daughter of John F. Husted, Jr. and Sandra (Castor) Husted. She attended grade school in Hillsdale and graduated from Gardner-Edgerton High School in 1981, where she was class president. She attended Allen County Community College and Kansas State University. In 1989, she worked in the Miami County Appraisers Office. She later worked at the Franklin County Appraisers Office, the Franklin County Clerk's Office, and currently for the Franklin County Information Technology Department. Malea was united in marriage to Milton Lutz on October 7, 1995, at Hillsdale Lake. She was a member of the Republican Women, Garfield Grade School PTA, Power of the Past Tractor Club, and Hillsdale Hustler's 4-H Club. She enjoyed listening to country music, photography, animals, and enjoyed the outdoors while tending to her yard. Mrs. Lutz was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond Castor and John and Gertrude Husted. Malea is survived by her husband, Milton; her daughter, Layne Jolin Lutz of the home; her parents, John F. and Sandra Husted of Spring Hill; her grandmother, Hazel Castor of Andover; three sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; one aunt; two uncles; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family suggests memorials be made to the Layne Jolin Lutz Education Fund and may be sent in care of Bank of the West, 700 South Main, Ottawa, KS 66067 or to Lamb- Roberts Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, which was in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 2: "Mary A. Hultz 1935-2006 Funeral services for Mary A. Hultz, 71, Ottawa, were Monday, August 7, 2006, at Farris- Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Fr. Emil Agostino officiating. Interment was in Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery. Mrs. Hultz died Wednesday, August 2, at her home. Mary A. Hultz was born February 13, 1935, at Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Meinrod and Beata (Dreiling) Kreitler. She graduated from Kincaid High School. Mary worked as an assembler for King Radio. Mary loved to cook for her family and others. She spent hours preparing breads, cakes, jams, and jellies to enter in local fairs. She was often rewarded with multiple prizes which she was extremely proud of. She scheduled vacations around holidays so she could prepare dozens of pies so that her children and grandchildren each had a couple to take home with them. Mrs. Hultz was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Bova in 1987; her brothers, Frank Kreitler, Al Kreitler, Joseph Kreitler, and Frank Kreitler; and her sisters, Theresa Harris and Alma Martin. Mary is survived by her former husband, Ray Hultz of Ottawa; her son, Daniel Hultz of Olathe; her daughters, Diane Boggs and Delores Jones, both of Ottawa; Dorothy Miltner of Lawrence, and Donna Doughty of Shawnee; her brother, Ralph Kreitler of Greeley, CO; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, Jason and Nathan Boggs, Melissa, Alyson, and Cole Fuller, Sonja and Adam Miltner, Justin Hultz, Ian and Abby Doughty, Adrian Hultz, and Zoe Boggs; and her little dog, Skippy. Music was provided by Mary Milner, organist, and Scott Schulte, vocalist. Musical selections included 'Hail Mary', 'Ave Maria', and 'Here I Am Lord'. Casketbearers were Jason Boggs, Dwayne Foltz, Tim Doughty, Harold Hermann, Cole Fuller, and Myron Miltner. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association. Nichols, 73, Garnett, were Monday, August 7, 2006, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Lloyd Houk officiating. Interment was in Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Mr. Nichols died Thursday, August 3, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care. Donald G. Nichols was born July 12, 1933, at Pomona, the son of Irvin and Florence (Tagne) Nichols. He was employed as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed driving across the country and meeting people. Mr. Nichols was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Salas on April 21, 1982; his sister, Vivian Nichols; an infant brother, Charles Nichols; and his parents, Irvin and Florence Nichols. Don is survived by his sons, Jimmy Nichols and his wife Sheila of Bronson, David Nichols and his fianc‚ Laura Stevens of Westphalia; and Donnie Nichols of Garnett; his daughters, Opal Tidwell and her husband Andy of Farmington, NM, Bobbi Nichols and her husband Jesse Ortiz of Las Cruces, NM, and Sherrie Nichols of Garnett; his brothers, James Nichols of Emporia and Dale Nichols and John Nichols, both of Pomona; his sisters, Jolene Dain of Topeka, Susan Baker of Emporia, and Emma Jo Nichols of Ottawa; his step-mother, Eva Nichols of Pomona; and 12 grandchildren. Musical selections included 'Remember The Lilies' and 'Go Rest High On That Mountain'. Casketbearers were Dale Nichols, Donnie Nichols, John Nichols, David Nichols, Jim Nichols, and Andy Tidwell. Honorary casketbearers were Tony Nichols, Jim McDonald, Steven Hess, and Jerry Soules. His greatest joy was his children. They kept him young and determined to live as long as he could, to see them grown. When he became ill, the highlight of his day was drinking coffee and visiting with his friends. We are so thankful that Dad accepted the Lord as his Savior and will be waiting for us in heaven. We love you Dad, Your Kids. Memorial contributions will go to help defray funeral expenses.
