Thompson, Sr. 1921-2006 Graveside inurnment services for Carl E. Thompson, Sr., 84, Princeton, were Monday, August 14, 2006, at Lane Cemetery, Lane, KS. Mr. Thompson died Wednesday, August 9, at Richmond Healthcare Center. Carl E. Thompson, Sr. was born October 19, 1921, in Wallace County, KS, the son of Ira and Mable (Burruss) Thompson. He grew up in Wallace County. In early adulthood he moved to Princeton, where he has lived since. Carl was a lifelong carpenter, working for Hubbard Lumber and also working on several jobs on his own. In 1995, he purchased the Richmond Lumber Yard, selling in 2005. From August 1942 to January 1946, he was a member of the United States Army, attaining the rank of Corporal. He earned the World War II Victory Medal. In the early 1960's, Carl was united in marriage with Leona Waddle. They were later divorced. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Mable Thompson; his brother, Leroy Thompson; and his sister, Carol Virginia Thompson. Carl is survived by his sons, Allen Thompson of Princeton and Carl Thompson of Branson, MO; his daughters, Lesa Carico of Osage Beach, MO, and Mary Harris of Arkansas; his stepsons, Ronnie Kennedy of Ottawa, Randy Kennedy of Branson, MO, and Ray Kennedy of Osawatomie; his sisters, Maxine Peed of Princeton, and Bertha Morgan and Fern Johnson, both of Ottawa; his brother, Lawrence Thompson of Wichita; 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family suggests memorials to the Carl Thompson, Sr. Memorial Fund. Dengel and Son Mortuary was in charge of arrangements." Page 3, Column 2: "Marjorie L. Worthington 1923-2006 Funeral services for Marjorie L. Worthington, 82, Garnett, were Thursday, August 17, 2006, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery, Mildred, KS. Mrs. Worthington died Sunday, August 13, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care Facility. Marjorie L. Worthington was born October 23, 1923, at Bronson, the daughter of Charles and Erma (Zornes) Gillham. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Garnett. Marge was an excellent cook, owning and operating the Rocky Roost in Welda and the Hotel Caf‚ on the square in Garnett. She also spent a number of years as a cook at Anderson County Hospital. Marge and Charles 'Skinny' Worthington were married March 8, 1941, at Nevada, MO. He survives of their home. Mrs. Worthington was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Erma Gillham; her sister, Juanita Pollet; and her brother, Loral Gillham. Marge is also survived by her son, Max Lee Worthington and his wife Deb of Garnett; her daughters, Donna Kesner and her husband Milo of Garnett, Janice Worthington of Afton, OK, and Charlotte Bush and her husband Gary of Winter Haven, FL; her brother, Lawrence Gillham of Moran; eight grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild. Musical selections included 'How Great Thou Art', sung by Lloyd Houk, 'Red Wing' played from a CD, and special music by Jacob Coltrane. Casketbearers were Max Todd Worthington, Linnie Grosdidier, Michael Womelduff, Bryan Adams, Matt Handy, and Justin Grosdidier. Honorary casketbearers were Milo Kesner, Gary Bush, Danny Coltrane, Roy Villegas, Justin Miller, Chuck Youtz, and Anthony Mills. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." Page 3, Column 3: "Aral Adrian Bonham 1914-2006 Funeral services for Aral Adrian Bonham, 91, Garnett, were Monday, August 14, 2006, at First Christian Church with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mrs. Bonham died Friday, August 11, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care Facility. Aral Adrian Bonham was born October 11, 1914, at Wheeler, TX, the daughter of Joe and Minnie (Kelley) Ing. She grew up in Mobeetie and Wheeler, TX, graduating from Mobeetie High School. She moved to Garnett in 1955. Aral and Manual Bonham were married on December 11, 1932, at Sayer, OK. This union was blessed with two daughters. He preceded her in death in 1977. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She had belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star since 1961 and was past Worthy Matron. Aral loved to paint. Mrs. Bonham was also preceded in death by her daughter, Gean Franklin in 1995; her grandson, Alan Lowe in 1956; and her parents, Joe Ing and Minnie Ing Weiss. Aral is survived by her daughter, Jo Lowe and her husband Jack of Garnett; her sister, Karen Byars of Pampa, TX; her grandsons, Darrell Franklin and his wife Kathy, Bob Franklin, and Mike Franklin and his wife Liz; her granddaughters, Debbie Crooks and Diane Eyssell and her husband Tom; 14 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Music was provided by Jeanine Zentner. Musical selections included 'Family Of God' and 'Because He Lives' as congregational hymns, and 'Whispering Hope'. Casketbearers were Paul Smitheran, Ray Smitheran, Ken McMillan, Bob Meliza, and Dale Douglass. Honorary casketbearers were Jim Manspeaker, Clarence Johnson, and Pete Gordon.
