  "Betty Joan Williams
  1933-2006
  Memorial services for Betty Joan Williams, 73, Emporia, formerly of Garnett and
  Columbia, MO, were Monday, October 9, 2006, at Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home
  in Emporia.  Pastor Chester Morris, Church of the New Covenant, Emporia, conducted
  the service.  Cremation is planned.  Mrs. Williams died Wednesday evening, October 4,
  at her home.
  Betty Joan Williams was born on January 15, 1933, at Columbia, MO, the daughter of
  Charles and Grace (Ash) Robertson.  She worked as a Medical Records Clerk for several
  medical offices.  She had been retired for 11 years.  She was a graduate of Columbia
  College, Columbia, MO, and was a lifelong fan of the Missouri Tigers.
  Joan and Charles Williams were married on August 27, 1955, at Columbia, MO.  He
  preceded her in death on July 5, 1994.
  Mrs. Williams was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Grace Robertson;
  and her sister, Mary Alice Simon-Meredith.
  Joan is survived by her sons, Brett Williams of Fort Scott, Brian Williams of Grand
  Rapids, MI, and Mike Williams of Emporia; her daughters, Terri Brooks of Emporia and
  Cindy Slaughter of Bloomington, IL; her brother, Ron Robertson of Columbia, MO; 14
  grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
  Memorials have been established with the Boone County Council on Aging, 800 North
  Providence, Columbia, MO 65202, or to the Hand in Hand Hospice, Emporia, with
  contribution sent in care of Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, who was in charge of
  arrangements."
  
  "Lawrence Dunlap
  1928-2006
  Graveside services for Lawrence Dunlap, 78, Kincaid, are Wednesday, October 11, 2006,
  at 11:00 a.m. at Kincaid Cemetery.  Mr. Dunlap died Sunday, October 8, at St. Luke's
  Hospital, Kansas City, MO.  A complete obituary will appear in the next Advocate.
  Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Moran, is in charge of arrangements."
