Interment was in U.S. National Cemetery. Mrs. Harrison died December 19, 2002, at Richmond Care Center, Richmond, KS. Alice Eldora Harrison was born August 16, 1942, at Fort Scott, KS, the daughter of Reece William and Eula Eldora (Batlon) Beerbower. Alice was a member of the Pentecostal Assembly in Nevada, MO. She loved making crafts, crocheting, and ceramics. Alice and Edward Lee Harrison were married on April 11, 1970, at Fort Scott. Mrs. Harrison was preceded in death by her parents, Reece William and Eula Eldora Beerbower; a brother, Lowell William Beerbower; and a grandson, Adam Lee Harrison. Alice is survived by her husband, Eddie Harrison, of the home; her sons, Edward Lee Harrison, Jr., Fort Scott, and Reece Wesley Harrison, of the home; her daughters, Melissa Ellen Skelton, Garnett, and Elizabeth Ann Shadden, Fort Scott; a sister, Nancy Jewel Parker, Fort Scott; eight grandchildren, four nieces and four nephews. The family received friends on Sunday, December 22, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Society and may be sent to Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, 201 South Main, P.O. Box 347, Fort Scott, KS 66701.
