Interment was in Pordue Cemetery. Mr. Schrock died June 4, 2002, at Mountain View. Daniel N. Schrock was born February 26, 1945, at Arthur, IL, the son of Noah and Gertrude (Yoder) Schrock. He was a cabinet maker, a member of Oxley Landmark Missionary Baptist Church, and a Gideon. Dan had lived in Garnett for many years, where he worked with his father at Schrock’s Body Shop in Garnett. At a very young age, Dan learned to endure hardships through a birth defect. He did not have any hip sockets, but it did not keep him from enjoying a normal life like most of us. His cheerful and pleasant disposition spoke so loudly that some did not even notice he had a limp. The next obstacle he had to face was the fight with cancer for the last eight years. Even through all this, he did not lose that cheerful and bright attitude. He always trusted Jesus to take care of him. He would say, ‘One day, I don’t know when, but I am going to be healed. It may not be here, but I know I will.’ Mr. Schrock was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Gertrude Schrock; his mother-in-law; a brother-in-law; and a nephew. Dan is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Gerline Morgan Schrock; his son, Jonathon Schrock, Mountain View, AR; his son-in-law, Eddy Lee; his daughter, Valerie DeAnn Lee, Onia, AR; seven sisters, Verna Yoder, Richland Center, WI, Sue Marks, Birmingham, AL, Irene Eby and her husband, Glen, Spooner, WI, Lena Keepers and her husband, Calvin, Sheldon, WI, Kay Bontrager and her husband, Dale, Goshen, IN, Ann Marks and her husband, Terry, Holtwood, PA, and Cora Wuerfele and her husband, Tom, Auburn, KS; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
