Eucharistic ministers were Loretta Sobba, Anita Sobba, and Mary Jane French. Lector was Barbara Brownell. Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery. Mr. Feuerborn died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at his home. Sylvester Feuerborn was born December 31, 1908, in a farmhouse in rural Anderson County which was homesteaded by his grandparents. He lived his entire life on that farm and passed away in the same house where he was born. Sylvester was the son of John and Margaret B. (Highberger) Feuerborn. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scipio, and a member of NRA. He was a farmer and dairyman. Mr. Feuerborn was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret B. Feuerborn; two brothers, Joseph Feuerborn and Victor Feuerborn; and two sisters, Barbara Feuerborn and Margaret C. Feuerborn. Sylvester is survived by his sister, Agnes Feuerborn, Garnett. Music was provided by Iona Sobba, organist. Musical selections included ‘Peace Prayer of St. Francis’, ‘All That I Am’, ‘Heart of Jesus’, ‘Hear’, and ‘Let There Be Peace On Earth’. Casketbearers were Rick Adkinson, Ron Pickert, John Sobba, Frank Feuerborn, Frank Sobba, and John Strobel. The family received friends after the Rosary Service on Thursday, July 25, 2002, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Midland Hospice, which may be left in care of the funeral home. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Garnett, was in charge of arrangements.” “Joseph N. Schneider 1933-2002 Memorial services for Joseph N. Schneider, 69, Ottawa, KS, were Saturday, July 27, 2002, at 10:00 a.m. at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa, KS, with Pastor Clifford E. Burke officiating. Mr. Schneider died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Richmond Care Center, Richmond, KS. Joseph N. Schneider was born February 11, 1933, at Paris, IL, the son of Joseph John and Regina (Laughlin) Schneider. He grew up in Cincinnati, OH, and Mattoon, IL. He also lived in Golden Oaks, MI, Redwood City, CA, St. Louis, MO, Overland Park, KS, and Rantoul and Ottawa, KS. He graduated from Western Hills High School, Cincinnati, OH, with the Class of 1951. He attended Ohio State University, majoring in mathematics and later attended flight school, where he attained his commercial pilot rating. Mr. Schneider was a captain for Transworld Airlines for thirty-two years, retiring in 1987. He also flew for Hillinbrand Industries and Ralson-Purina during the early 1960’s. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Ottawa, K.C. Flyers Ultralight Flying Association, Quiet Birdmen, and TWA Active Retired Pilots Association (TARPA). Mr. Schneider was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph John Schneider and Regina (Laughlin) Schneider; and his brother, William Schneider. Joseph is survived by his children, Susan Reese, Boulder, CO, Gary Schneider, Round Hill, VA, and Kate Dixon, San Francisco, CA; and his grandchildren, Rachel Gatschet, Holly Schneider, Haley Schneider, and Garrett Schneider. Memorials may be made to Midland Hospice, which may be left in care of the funeral home.
