Interment was in Highland Cemetery, Iola, KS. Mr. Waddell died Tuesday, September 24, 2002, at Via Christie-St. Francis Hospital, Wichita, KS. Dale Dean Waddell was born October 1, 1944, at Iola, KS, the son of George S. and Leota (Adams) Waddell. He grew up in the Kincaid and Colony area, later moving to the Pittsburg-Fort Scott, KS, area. He was a graduate of Kincaid High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Waddell was an over-the-road truck driver, working for Milton Trucking for eleven and one half years. Mr. Waddell was preceded in death by his father, George S. Waddell; two brothers, Danny Waddell and Terry Waddell; and one infant sibling. Dale is survived by his son, David Waddell, Yates Center, KS; his daughters, Deana Williams, Jacksonville, FL, Julie Ross, Tulsa, OK, and Tracy Vest, LaHarpe, KS; his mother, Leota Waddell, Colony, KS; his brothers, Ronnie Waddell, St. Louis, MO, Walter Waddell, Kincaid, KS, Larry Waddell, Eureka, KS, Jerry Waddell, Colony, KS, and David Waddell, Ottawa, KS; his sister, Kathy Waddell, Colony, KS; and twelve grandchildren. Music was provided by Evelyn Bunnel, pianist, and Kim Strickler, soloist. Musical selections included “Amazing Grace”. The family received friends on Friday, September 27, 2002, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in his honor may be made to help defray funeral expenses and may be left in care of Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel.
