Phillip Stanton Phares was born June 30, 1962, in Kansas, the son of Phillip and Beverly Marie (Boyles) Phares. He was self-employed. Mr. Phares was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Marie Phares, and his grandfather, Fred Boyles, Sr. Stan is survived by his father, Phillip Phares, Akron, NY; his sister, Krista Phares, Las Vegas, NV; and his grandparents, Harold and Olive Phares, Garnett, and Marie Boyles, Garnett. Miller, 93, Colony, KS, are Friday, November 15, 2002, at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel, Iola, KS. Interment is in Colony Cemetery. Mr. Miller died November 10, 2002, at Allen County Hospital, Iola. Cleo A. Miller was born November 12, 1908, at Farmington, IA. He grew up in the Geneva area. Cleo and Lela D. Maley were married February 18, 1932. They made their home on a farm west of Neosho Falls, KS, until moving to Colony in 1947. He farmed and worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for thirty-eight years before he retired. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in LeRoy, KS. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, Lela A. Miller, on July 26, 1999, and four sisters. Cleo is survived by his sons, Cleo Richard Miller, Charleston, SC, Cecil Lee Miller, Fort Scott, KS, Leo Dean Miller, LeRoy, KS, and Gerald Brian Miller, Topeka, KS; his daughter, Clara Mae Kentch, Colony, KS; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. Graveside inurnment services will follow at the Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Tyler died Wednesday, November 6, 2002, in San Antonio. John ‘Tommy’ Tyler was born September 22, 1933, in Garnett, the son of Miles and Velma Tyler. He was a 1951 graduate of Garnett High School. He served in both the United States Coast Guard and the United States Air Force. Mr. Tyler was preceded in death by his parents, Miles and Velma Tyler. Tommy is survived by his wife, Virginia; his five children, Tim, Anna, Rob, Chris and Jeanne Marie; his former wife of thirty-four years, Mary Lynne ‘Lynnie’ Tyler; seven grandchildren, Michael, Leanne, Jacob, Pierce, Austin, Nicholas, and Brenna; two sisters, Wilma and Norma; and one brother, Gene.
