Ralph Frederick ‘Butch’ Katzer was born September 19, 1943, at Garnett, KS, the son of August and Marie (Wuckowitsch) Katzer. He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1901. He was a machinist for Taylor Forge. Ralph and Eileen Wittman were married November 25, 1967, at Greeley, KS. Mr. Katzer was preceded in death by his father, August Katzer, and a sister, Florence Crane. Ralph is survived by his wife, Eileen Katzer, of the home; his son, Kenny Katzer, Greeley, KS; his daughters, Laurie Morgan, Paola, KS, and Janell Katzer, Greeley, KS; his mother, Marie Katzer, Greeley, KS; his brothers, Clyde Katzer and Harold Katzer, Greeley, KS; his sisters, Pauline O’Farrell and Alberta Schaffer, Parker, KS; and two grandchildren. Music was provided by Sue Hardman, organist, and Jane Lickteig, soloist. Musical selections included “Pass It On”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, “You Are Mine”, and “When I Close My Eyes”. Casketbearers were Jeff Schaffer, Frankie Wittman, Dean Katzer, Jeff Katzer, Eric Wittman, and John Crane. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Phares died Saturday, November 9, 2002, at his home in Las Vegas. Phillip Stanton Phares was born June 30, 1962, in Kansas, the son of Phillip and Beverly Marie (Boyles) Phares. He graduated from the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. Stan was owner of Phillip Stanton Advertising. He was a member of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau of Greater Las Vegas, U.N.L.V. Alumni Association, and the Canyon Ridge Christian Church. Mr. Phares was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Marie Phares, in 2001, and his grandfather, Fred Boyles, Sr. Stan is survived by his father, Phillip Phares, Akron, NY; his sister, Krista Phares, Las Vegas, NV; and his grandparents, Harold and Olive Phares, Garnett, and Marie Boyles, Garnett. Music was provided by Nancy Horn, pianist. Musical selections included “Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “Amazing Grace” as congregational hymns. Casketbearers were Robert Largo, Paul Phares, Guy Sheets, Jack Phares, Rodney Phares, and Ernest Wallace. Lector was George Bond. Gift bearers were Mr. Guilfoyle’s granddaughters. Interment was in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery with military honors by Greeley VFW Post #6887. Mr. Guilfoyle died Tuesday evening, November 12, 2002, at Anderson County Hospital. Patrick Guilfoyle was born March 2, 1926, at Sperry, OK, the son of Joseph P. and Opal Edith (Roles) Guilfoyle. He was born and raised in Sperry. He moved to Greeley when he was eighteen years of age. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served during World War II in the South Pacific and China from 1944-1946. Pat returned to Skiatook, OK, where he lived until 1950. He moved to Coleridge, NE, where he lived from 1950-1953. He then moved back to Oklahoma and in May, 1959, he moved to Greeley, where he has lived for the past forty-three years. Pat earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy Science from Oklahoma State University. He was a dairy farmer. He also worked as a millwright (Local 1529), retiring in 1986. Pat was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Greeley. He was 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus Council #1901 and was a member of VFW Post #4887 of Greeley. Pat and Ora Belle Porche were married January 21, 1947, in Skiatook, OK. Mr. Guilfoyle was preceded in death by a son, Mike Guilfoyle; a grandson, Kyle M. Guilfoyle; his parents Joseph P. and Opal Edith Guilfoyle; and a brother, Thomas J. Guilfoyle. Pat is survived by his wife, Ora Belle Guilfoyle, Greeley, KS; his sons, Joe Guilfoyle and his wife, Wendy, Ft. Meyers, FL, John Guilfoyle and his wife, Susie, Oologah, OK, Tom Guilfoyle and his wife, Vickie, Parker, KS, Dave Guilfoyle and his wife, Cheryl, Greeley, KS, Ron Guilfoyle and his wife, Donna, Fontana, KS, Bill Guilfoyle and his wife, Gina, Kansas City, MO, and Rick Guilfoyle, Tulsa, OK; his daughters, Judy Peterson and her husband, Ken, Pinetop, AR, and Laura Krom and her husband, Dennis, Garland, KS; his brothers, Bill Guilfoyle, Topeka, KS, John Guilfoyle, Garnett, KS, and Carl Guilfoyle, Greeley, KS; his sisters, Sister Judith Guilfoyle RMS, Oklahoma City, OK, and Margie Bond, Tulsa, OK; twenty-two grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Music was provided by Marilyn Peterson, organist, and Fred Miller, soloist.
