Inurnment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Headrick died December 6, 2002, at Golden Heights Living Center, Garnett. Carl David Headrick was born December 5, 1927, at Rolla, MO, the son of George Edward and Maude Estelle (Hults) Headrick. He served in the United States Army. He was a pipefitter and worked at Wolf Creek for many years. Later, he was a maintenance person at Oak Haven Nursing Home in Richmond, KS. Carl was an avid fisherman. Carl and Melvine Lands were married in 1945 at St. Louis, MO. Mr. Headrick was preceded in death by his wife, Melvine Headrick; a son, Gary Headrick; his parents, George Edward and Maude Estelle Headrick; two brothers, George E. Headrick and Leroy Headrick; and a sister, Mildred Armstrong. Carl is survived by his sons, Carl Headrick, Jr., Rainier, OR, and Marvin Headrick, Garnett; his daughters, Gail McKinley, Mancos, CO, Tina Headrick, Garnett, Connie Layne, Garnett, and Lena Headrick, Garnett; his brothers, Hal Headrick, St. Louis, MO, and Hugh John Headrick, St. Louis, MO; his sisters, Betty Jean Berra, St. Louis, MO, and Susie Anderson, Lebanon, MO; his eighteen grandchildren, Shawn Headrick, Carla Headrick, Michael Headrick, Clinton Headrick, Robert McKinley, Travis McKinley, Cristal (Headrick) Howey, Jennifer (Headrick) Gilbreth, Sandra (Headrick) Johnson, Jeremy Layne, Joshua Layne, Jeffrey Layne, James Layne, Jacob Layne, Natasha Headrick, Allison DeVoe, Keith DeVoe, and Cody Vermillion; and his fourteen great-grandchildren, Tyler Headrick, Erica Spence, Samantha Spence, Matthew Winfrey, Clayton Whitney, Justin Headrick, Skyler Gilbreth, Bobbie Joe McKinley, Alex McKinley, Joey McKinley, Corbin Layne, Barak Layne, Kyndall Layne, and Jullian Layne. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mrs. Gordon died December 8, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka, KS. Clarice D. Gordon was born July 8, 1929, near Burlington, KS, the daughter of Claire Leon and Fontella Elizabeth (Weiss) Gillow. She graduated from Williamsburg High School and Emporia Teachers College. Clarice was an educator, teaching for more than twenty years in country schools. Schools where she taught included Harris, Welda, Junction, Cherry Mound, and Iantha. She enjoyed her cats, playing the piano and other instruments, crafts, textile painting, and genealogy. She also played the piano for numerous weddings and other occasions. Clarice had been a Watkins Product dealer. Clarice and Lynn E. ‘Lindy’ Gordon were married on January 20, 1952, at Waverly, KS. Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn E. Gordon on August 12, 1987; her parents, Claire Leon and Fontella Elizabeth Gillow; and two brothers, Kelvin Gillow and Jack Gillow. Clarice is survived by her son, Lynn Gordon, Emporia, KS; a half-brother, Marlin Redding, Lawrence, KS; a half-sister, Gwyneth Toy, Texas; several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins. Music was provided by Laura Parks, organist, and Richard Parks, soloist. Musical selections included “How Great Thou Art” and “Pink Cadillac”, as performed by Elvis Presley. Casketbearers were Leon Hirt, Ed Mader, Jeff Manspeaker, Daniel Miller, Richard Tinsley, and Lester Yoder. The family received friends on Wednesday, December 11, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mrs. Radcliffe died December 8, 2002, at Arkhaven Assisted Living, Garnett. Euleta Dell Radcliffe was born August 10, 1912, at Salina, KS, the daughter of Charles L. and Grace (Gorrell) Ashburn. She lived in Garnett most of her life, most recently as a resident of Arkhaven Residential Care Center. Euleta attended school in Garnett. She was employed by Warner Manufacturing as a sewing machine operator from 1954 to 1974 and retired from there after twenty years of service. Her hobbies included sewing and gardening. Euleta and Noel Silas Radcliffe were married August 24, 1919, at Ottawa, KS. Mrs. Radcliffe was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Silas Radcliffe, on January 21, 1984; all five of her children, William Eugene Radcliffe, in December, 1949, Noel Ray Radcliffe, in April, 1988, and Charles Howard Radcliffe, November, 1991, infant Phyllis June Radcliffe, in December, 1932, and Carol Jane Radcliffe Likes Weber, in August, 1990; two grandsons, William Ray Likes, in June 1979, and Ricky Dean Likes, in November, 1983; her parents, Charles Asburn, in 1938, and Grace Ashburn, in September, 1966; three brothers, Earl Lewis Ashburn, in June, 1932, Marion Charles Ashburn, in April, 1990, and Ralph David Ashburn, in July, 1998; and three sisters, Emma Mae Ashburn Weiland, in September, 1931, and Dorothy Louise Ashburn Griffin, in April, 1978. Euleta is survived by her brother, Edgar Raymond Ashburn, Overland Park, KS; her sisters, Martha Eva Gregg, Garnett, Charlotte Christina Weiland, Bonner Springs, KS, and Georgia Violet Davin, Garnett; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Music was provided by Jeanine Zentner, organist, and Richard Parks, soloist. Musical selections included “Old Rugged Cross” and “Beyond the Sunset”. Casketbearers were Kent Ashburn, Paul Egidy, Robert Gregg, Chuck Likes, Terry Schwegman, and Charles Weiland.
