Private burial will follow the service at Saint Teresa Catholic Cemetery, Westphalia, KS. The Rosary will be recited at 9:00 a.m. before the Mass. Mr. Ratliff died Saturday, February 15, at Staples Hospital, Staples, MN. Zenn Dale Ratliff was born February, 17 1933, at Mont Ida, KS, the son of Zenn T. and Lucille (Billie) Chitwood Ratliff. He was raised in the Glenlock and Westphalia areas and attended schools there. He was a graduate of Westphalia High School with the Class of 1950. After high school, he farmed for a time. In 1958, Zenn Dale graduated from the Mason City, Iowa, Auctioneers School. He was an auctioneer and a livestock order buyer. Zenn Dale and Anna Hoefler were married November 5, 1951, at Saint Teresa Catholic Church, Westphalia. They divorced in February 1982. In 1960, he moved to Chanute and had made his home in Minnesota for many years. Mr. Ratliff was preceded in death by his parents, Zenn T. and Billie Ratliff. Zenn Dale is survived by his sons, Gary Ratliff and Mickey Ratliff, both of Chanute, KS; his daughters, Kathy Wicker and Jackie Van Gotten, both of Chanute, Denice Squire, Indianapolis, IN, and Michelle Jezioro, Yukon, OK; nineteen grandchildren; four great- granddaughters; his brothers, Max Ratliff, Garnett, Gail Ratliff, Westphalia, and Bill Ratliff, Ottawa, KS; and his sisters, Jeannie Thompson, McLouth, KS, and Joyce Ratliff, Lewisville, TX. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at Gibson- Koch-Friskel Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Saint Patrick's School Building Fund or the Zenn Dale Ratliff Memorial Fund. Gibson-Koch-Friskel Chapel is in charge of arrangements." "Everett F. Kice 1920-2003 Memorial services for Everett F. Kice, 83, Paola, KS, were Friday, February 14, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at Wilson and Son Funeral Home, Paola. Interment was in Paola Cemetery. Mr. Kice died Tuesday, February 11, at North Point Skilled Nursing Center, Paola. Everett F. Kice was born January 25, 1920, in Paola, KS, the son of Orval Arthur and Alvina Enstena (Zebert) Kice. At the age of sixteen, the family moved to Garnett, where he graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1938. He enlisted in the United States Navy on October 2, 1941, during World War II and was in the Submarine Unit. While in the Submarine Unit, Everett performed seven and one half tours of duty in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans and the Sea of Japan. After his discharge on September 29, 1945, he returned to Paola where he made his home. He worked in the oil well drilling business for several years before being employed at Taylor Forge in 1985 as a Machinist. Everett also held three Journeyman licenses. Everett and Helen Ibbison were married on April 10, 1943, in Norwich, CA, and together they became the proud parents of three children. She preceded him in death on August 1, 1994. Everett married Charlene Christian on April 8, 2000, and together they made their home in Paola. Everett and Charlene are members of the Paola Presbyterian Church. Other memberships include American Legion Post 156, Sub Vets of World War II and Sub Vets Inc. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed making things for his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, golfing, and helping with Boy Scout Troop #100. Everett was also very proud of his grandsons and one stepson who were Eagle Scouts. Mr. Kice was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen; his parents, Orval Arthur and Alvina Enstena Kice; and one sister, Vera McLaughlin, on March 1, 2001. Everett is survived by his beloved wife, Charlene, of the home; three sons, Art Kice and his wife, Linda, Olathe, KS, and their children, Megan and Christina; Mike Kice and his wife, Linda, New Orleans, LA, and their children, Sean and Brent; and Dick Kice and his wife, Janet, Shell Knob, MO, and their children, Ryan and Andy; one stepson, Brad Christian and his wife, Crystal, Paola, KS, and their children, Kate and Callie, and a host of other family members and close friends, all of whom will miss him deeply. The family received friends on Thursday, February 13, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. "Walter Lincoln Adams 1941-2003 Funeral services for Walter Lincoln Adams, 61, Welda, KS, were Tuesday, February 18, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Garnett, with Rev. Connie Woolridge officiating. Interment was in Welda Cemetery. Mr. Adams died Friday, February 14, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. Walter Lincoln Adams was born October 1, 1941, in Anderson County, KS, the son of Homer L. and Helen (Fagg) Adams. He was a graduate of Welda High School with the Class of 1959. Walt was a lifelong farmer and stockman in the Welda community. Walt and Anita Kay Glamser were married December 2, 1961, at Welda. Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Helen Adams; and two brothers, Wayne Adams, in 1968, and Darrell Adams, in 1974. Walt is survived by his wife, Kay Adams, of the home; his sons, Bryan Adams and his wife, Brandi, Welda, and Derrick Adams and his wife, Cathy, Iola, KS; his grandchildren, Macy, Austin, and Jack Adams; his brothers, Delbert Adams and Ralph Adams, both of Welda, and Homer Leonard Adams, Colony, KS; and his sisters, Mildred Adams, Iola, KS, Elaine Mitchell, Welda, and Charlotte Adams, Independence, KS. Music was provided by Jeanine Zentner, organist, and Susan Beck, soloist. Musical selections included 'I Believe', 'One Day At A Time', and 'Grandpa', as recorded by The Judds. Casketbearers were Clifford Spencer, Clyde Parks, Neal Naylor, Richard Miller, Mike Brownrigg, and Leonard Benjamin. Honorary casketbearers were Leon Benjamin and Charles Worthington. The family received friends on Monday, February 17, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
