Rossman 1904-2003 Funeral Mass for Agnes M. Rossman, 98, Richmond, KS, were Thursday, February 27, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, Richmond, with Father Emil Agostino officiating. Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery, Scipio, KS. Mrs. Rossman died Sunday, February 23, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, KS. Agnes M. Rossman was born September 29, 1904, at Scipio, KS, the daughter of William and Lena (Lickteig) Wolken. She was a lifetime resident of Anderson and Franklin Counties. Agnes was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church, Altar Society, and the Pitch Club, all of Richmond. Agnes and Fred Rossman were married November 10, 1925. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1927. Agnes and John Rossman were married November 9, 1927, at Scipio, KS. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1973. Mrs. Rossman was preceded in death by her husbands, Fred Rossman and John Rossman; an infant daughter, Irene Rossman, on February 10, 1927; one grandchild; one great- grandchild; four brothers and three sisters. Agnes is survived by her sons, Jim Rossman and his wife, Betty, Albert, KS, Virgil Rossman and his wife, Pat, Richmond, Arthur Rossman and his wife, Phyllis, Richmond, Don Rossman and his wife, Jeanie, Pomona, KS, Earl Dean Rossman, Richmond, and Robert Rossman and his wife, Vyonne, Princeton, KS; her daughters, Maretta Mulerin and her husband, Roger, Fenton, MI, Erma Brown and her husband, Dan, Gardner, KS, and Dorothy Shields and her husband, Robert, Princeton, KS; her brother-in-law, Ralph Mersman, Scipio, KS; her sister, Bertilla Bicklemeyer, Eudora, KS; twenty-three grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Rosary was said on Wednesday, February 26, at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home, after which the family greeted friends. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." "Ellen C. Hummell 1923-2003 Ellen C. Hummell, 80, Ottawa, KS, formerly of Garnett, died Saturday, February 22, 2003, at Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa. No services are scheduled. Ellen C. Hummell was born January 28, 1923, at Geddes, SD, the daughter of Stanley and Christina (Kucera) Malik. She grew up in Burlington, KS. She was a member of the Girls Guard in high school. Ellen lived in Loveland, CO, for thirty-six years, where she worked as a retail clerk for JC Penney and Ward's, moving to Mesa, AZ, where she lived for ten years before moving to Garnett eleven years ago. She had lived in Ottawa for the past year. She was a member of the Garnett Presbyterian Church and was a former member in Mesa, AZ. Ellen and Lawrence 'Hoyt' Hummell were married June 23, 1946, at Burlington, KS. Mrs. Hummell is survived by her husband, Lawrence 'Hoyt' Hummell, Ottawa, KS; her son, Jerry Hummell and his wife, Connie, Fort Collins, CO; her daughter, Nancy Thompson and her husband, Jerry, Grand Blanc, MI; three grandchildren and one great- grandchild.
