Interment is in Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, KS. Mrs. Michaels died Saturday, March 22, at her home. Roberta Ellen Michaels was born February 4, 1936, at Williamsburg, KS, the daughter of Robert Aqilla and Amy May (Hoskinson) McCurdy. She attended Williamsburg and Ottawa schools and later earned her G.E.D. She was a near lifelong resident of Franklin County. Roberta worked for King Radio, Ottawa, and Ottawa Truck before working as an inspector for Our Own Hardware, retiring in about 1990. She was an active member of Town and Country Church of Christ, serving over the years as Sunday School teacher, Sunday School superintendent, church treasurer, and church camp helper. Years ago, she was also a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Roberta and Lawrence Ray Yohe were married July 1, 1952, at Garnett. They later divorced. On September 4, 1987, she was united in marriage with Floyd E. Michaels at Ottawa. Mrs. Michaels was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Aqilla and Amy May McCurdy; a brother, Loren McCurdy; and a step-son-in-law, Richard Rippy. Roberta is survived by her husband, Floyd, of the home; her daughter, Ellen Loraine Gould, Wellsville, KS: her sisters, Phyllis Gearheart, Turpin, OK, Mary Lou Baker, Ruby McKay, and Judy Collins, all of Ottawa, KS; her brothers, Robert McCurdy and Eldon McCurdy, both of Ottawa, KS, Ralph Wilson, Jr., Pomona, KS, and Gary Wilson and Mike Wilson, both of Ottawa, KS; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; her step-daughters, Sheila Rippy, Tecumseh, KS, and Julie Rodriquez, Oskaloosa, KS; her step-sons, Darren Michaels, Scranton, KS, and Thomas Michaels, Tecumseh, KS; eight step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to Town and Country Church of Christ, in care of the funeral home. Interment was in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Setter died on Tuesday, March 18, at 8:50 p.m. in Rockford Memorial Hospital. Arnold Peter Setter was born June 23, 1915, at Garnett, KS, the son of John B. and Magnaline ‘Lena’ (Ossenbeck) Setter. He was a veteran of World War II, serving his country in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater. He served on the Rockford Board of Education and was a maintenance engineer at Sumerdale School for twenty-six years, retiring in 1978. Arnold was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and was a former member of Men’s Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus. He loved outdoor activities, such as gardening and fishing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family and was very fond of his grandchildren. Arnold married Eleanor I. Loucks in Texas. Mr. Setter was preceded in death by his parents, John B. and Magnaline Setter; an infant daughter, Lisa; and nine brothers and one sister. Arnold is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his daughter, Susan Zimmerman and her husband, Duane, Roscoe, IL; his sons, Louis Setter and his wife, Sue, Rockford, IL, Larry Setter and his wife, Carole, Rockford, IL, and Lee Setter and his wife, Andrea, Loves Park, IL; and his eleven grandchildren, Annie Egler and her husband, Brian, Elizabeth, Katie, Kristi, Kelley, Andrew, Adam, and Eric Setter, and Jeffrey, Kelly, and Megan Zimmerman. Visitation was Friday, March 21, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., with the Wake Service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home, and from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday in the church. Mrs. Hannah died Monday, March 24, at her home. The family will meet at the funeral home and leave for the cemetery in procession at 10:45 a.m. prior to the graveside service. There is no visitation scheduled.
