Interment was in the Ursuline Cemetery. Sister Mary Margaret died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. Sister Mary Margaret was born September 21, 1930, in Scipio, KS, the daughter of Chris and Clara (Roeckers) Wolken. She was received into the Ursuline community as Sister Mary Benigna Consolata on October 21, 1949, and made her final profession of vows on August 21, 1954. She served as a teacher and principal at St. John’s the Baptist School in Greeley, KS, for thirty years, from 1955-1959 and 1974-2000, and as a teacher at St. John’s Elementary in Bartlesville, OK, for fifteen years from 1959-1974. She also taught at St. Ann School in Prairie Village from 1951-1955 and Queen of the Holy Rosary in Overland Park from 1966-1967. Currently, she had been assisting in the library and the Development Office at the Ursuline Motherhouse. Sister Mary Margaret received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Mount Saint Scholastic College in Atchison, KS, and a Master’s degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Clara Wolken; her brothers, Robert Wolken and Arthur Wolken; and her sisters, Joan Wolken and Sister Christina Wolken, OSU. Sister Mary Margaret is survived by one brother, Harold Wolken and his wife, Anthonette; four sisters, Mildred Seck, Lillian Mayes, Annetta Butel and her husband, Tony, and Clara Jean Wolken; her sisters-in-law, Betty Wolken and Louise Wolken; many nieces and nephews; and her Ursuline Sisters. Sister Mary Margaret was a devoted teacher and faithful friend. She will always be remembered for her kindness and compassion. The wake service was held Sunday, April 20, at 7:00 p.m. in the main chapel of the Ursuline Motherhouse, Paola, KS. Memorial donations may be made to the Ursuline Sisters of Paola. Wilson and Son Funeral Home, Paola, KS, was in charge of arrangements.” “Viola Kathryn Peters 1913-2003 Funeral services for Viola Kathryn Peters, 89, Garnett, were Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mrs. Peters died Saturday, April 19, at Golden Height Living Center, Garnett.
