Blubaugh 1906-2003 Funeral services for Minnie A. Blubaugh, 97, Iola, KS, were Friday, May 16, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Chapel, Iola. Interment was in Highland Cemetery, Iola. Mrs. Blubaugh died Tuesday, May 13, at Winsor Place in Iola. Minnie A. Blubaugh was born February 28, 1906, at Gypsum, KS, to Gotlob and Wilimina Rieff Krause. She grew up in Gypsum, one of ten children. Minnie and Oscar H. Blubaugh were married December 18, 1925, at Wichita, KS. They farmed in Sedgwick County until 1948 when they moved to Anderson County. Mr. Blubaugh retired in 1963 and they moved to Allen County. He died January 5, 1986. Mrs. Blubaugh was also preceded in death by three sons, Ralph, Robert, and Raymond Blubaugh; and eight brothers and sisters. Minnie is survived by her sons, Roger Blubaugh and Rusell Blubaugh, both of Olathe, KS, Reuben Blubaugh, Excelsior Springs, MO, David Blubaugh, Fort Scott, KS, and Steve Blubaugh, Watertown, SD; her daughters, Norma Nilges, Iola, KS and Lois Nilges, Garnett; her sister, Miriam Jones, Roseville, CA; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Iola Pre-School for Special Education. Waugh-Yokum and Friskel Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” “Rex A. Myers 1936-2003 Funeral services for Rex A. Myers, 66, Ottawa, KS, were Saturday, May 17, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa, with Rev. Clyde Greisen officiating. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Centropolis, KS. Mr. Myers died Tuesday, May 13, at his home. Rex A. Myers was born June 9, 1936, at Centropolis, KS, the son of Fred and Lela (Patton) Myers. He was a lifelong resident of Franklin County, having lived in Ottawa the past forty-three years. Rex was a graduate of Appanoose High School with the Class of 1954. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1954-1956. He was a lifelong truck driver, having been employed twenty-four years with Exxon in Olathe, KS, and also formerly drove for Farmland Industries. He retired in 2001. He was a member of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ottawa. Rex and Sandra Jo Griffin were married January 26, 1958, at Ottawa. She preceded him in death on March 21, 1992. On July 4, 1994, Rex was united in marriage with Donna Jean Stillians at Las Vegas, NV. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Jo Myers; his parents, Fred and Lela Myers; his brother, Lester Myers; and his grandson, Jordan Myers. Rex is survived by his wife, Donna Stillians-Myers, of the home; his sons, Michael Myers, Scott Myers, Eddie Myers, and Jeff Myers, all of Ottawa, Kevin Stillians, Parker, KS, and Toby Stillians, LaCygne, KS; his daughter, Karla Branam, Williamsburg, KS; his sister, Pattie Rockhold, Centropolis, KS; fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family received friends on Thursday, May 15, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice and left in care of the funeral home.
