Gale E. Mack and Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Inurnment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Kite died Friday, June 20, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care, Garnett. Robert Milton Kite was born August 18, 1926, at Garnett, KS, the son of Chester Home and Velma Florence (Lee) Kite. He was a machinist. Bob’s hobbies included fishing and listening to and dancing to big band music with his wife. He also attended jazz festivals in the area. Bob was one of the founders and charter members of the boat club in Garnett, and was one of the organizers of the stock car races that used to be held in Garnett. He was a veteran of the United States Army and Navy. Bob and Mary Fraser were married June 16, 1951, at Iola, KS. Mr. Kite was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Velma Kite. Bob is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home; his sons, Rob Kite and his wife, Carol, Garnett, Tom Kite and his wife, Michelle, Cushing, OK, Jerry Kite, Garnett, and Scott Kite and his wife, Stacey, Garnett; his daughter, Susan Owens, Garnett; his grandchildren, Kim Kite, Garnett, Kristian Kite and Amanda Kite, Winfield, KS, Robbie Kite, Ponca City, OK, and Deric Hulett, Ashley Owens, Amber Owens, and Alison Owens, Garnett; and his sister, Kathryn McGee and her husband, Kenneth, Centerville, KS. Music was provided by Joyce Hardesty, organist, and Scott Schulte, soloist, who sang ‘The Lord’s Prayer’. The family received friends on Wednesday, June 25, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice or the First United Methodist Church, which may be left in care of the hospital. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” “James Arthur Sloan 1938-2003 Graveside inurnment for James Arthur Sloan, 64, Iola, KS, are Saturday, June 28, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at Moran Cemetery, Moran, KS, with Lloyd Houk officiating. Mr. Sloan died Sunday, June 15, at his sister’s home. James Arthur Sloan was born July 12, 1938, at Bronson, KS, the son of Walter and Opal (Heckenliable) Sloan. He was a stone mason. James and Judy May were married September 13, 1969, at Miami, OK. They later divorced. Mr. Sloan was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Opal Sloan; his brother, Jerry Sloan; and his sisters, Tessie Sloan and Nadja Knight. James is survived by his former wife, Judy Sloan, Iola, KS; his daughter, Jamie Suzanne Sloan Still, Pittsburg, KS, and Alice Nicole Sloan, Fort Hood, TX; his sisters, Ruth Hermreck, Garnett, and Kathy Nickles, Albuquerque, NM; and two grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association, which may be left in care of the funeral home.
