Lorance 1930-2003 Funeral services for Delmer E. Lorance, 72, Colony, KS, are Friday, July 18, 2003, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Colony, with Lloyd Houk officiating. Interment is in Colony Cemetery. Mr. Lorance died Tuesday, July 15, at Moran Manor, Moran, KS. Delmer E. Lorance was born November 25, 1930 at Iola, KS, the son of Floyd and Ruth (Osborn) Lorance. He graduated from Iola High School in 1948. Delmer moved to Colony in 1966. He was an oil field superintendent for Russell Petroleum. He was baptized by the Colony Community Church and was a member of the Oil and Gas Association. Delmer enjoyed fishing. Delmer and Joan Maschler were married on March 31, 1950, in Arkansas. Mr. Lorance was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Lorance, on August 6, 1996; his son, Michael Lorance, on May 23, 1999; his father, Floyd Lorance; and two sisters, Lois Siegal and Floya Baker, on June 6, 2003. Delmer is survived by his daughters, Donna Medlam and her husband, Don, Colony, KS, and Shirley Heiman and her husband, Charles A., Humboldt, KS; his mother, Ruth Lorance, Iola, KS; his sisters, Elaine Houk, Moran, KS, and Carol Loomis, Inman, KS; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family received friends on Thursday, July 19, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 3: “Everett M. ‘Jack’ Sutton 1927-2003 Everett M. ‘Jack’ Sutton, 75, Lyons, CO, formerly of Garnett, died of natural causes Monday, June 9, 2003, at his home. Jack was born September 1, 1927, in Garnett, to Homer R. and Frances (Van Horn) Sutton. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1951. Jack served in the United States Navy from 1945-1946 and the United States Air Force from 1951-1953. He formerly worked at the Purina Mills plant in Denver, CO, and O. & M. Scott & Sons of Ohio. He also was part owner of Colorado’s Own, a lawn products company in Denver. Jack was a member of the Methodist Church. Jack and Shirley Henry were married on January 10, 1953, in Denver, CO. Mr. Sutton is survived by his wife, Shirley Sutton, Lyons, CO; his sons, Michael W. Sutton, Boulder, CO, and Robert C. Sutton, Kuwait; and his brother, Carl Sutton, Tulsa, OK. Cremation has taken place. Interment with Masonic services was in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Sellers died Monday, July 14, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. Don Sellers was born November 22, 1930, at Ottawa, KS, the son of Melvin L. and Lola E. (Cordell) Sellers. He was a lifelong Ottawa, Franklin County, KS, resident. He graduated from Ottawa High School with the Class of 1949 and attended Ottawa University. From 2000 to the present, Don worked for Benchmark Industries in Olathe and from 1999 to the present, Ottawa Maytag, and later Mr. C’s Affordable Maytag. From 1984-1997, he was co-owner/operator of Ottawa Home Furnishings. From the mid-1960’s to 1984, Don was co-owner/operator of Benner-Williams Home Furnishings, Ottawa. From 1958 to the mid-1960’s, he worked for Quinn’s Furniture in Ottawa. Don was a fifty-year member of First United Methodist Church, Ottawa. He was a member and Past Master of Ottawa Lodge #18, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons; Abdallah Shrine of Overland Park; Franklin County Shrine Club; Scottish Rite Consistory of Lawrence; York Rite Bodies of Ottawa; Ottawa Lodge #803, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; and member and past president of Sertoma International. Don and Janie Laws were married September 19, 1951, at Ottawa. They later divorced. On July 9, 1994, Don was united in marriage with Norma J. (Stoffer) Miller in Ottawa. Mr. Sellers was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin L. and Lola E. Sellers. Don is survived by his wife, Norma, of the home; his sons, Jay Dee Sellers, Austin, TX, Jeff Sellers, Topeka, KS, Jamie Sellers, Rosman, NC, Jere Sellers, Prairie Village, KS, and Jason Sellers, Orange, TX; his step-daughters, Kim Miller, Lawrence, KS, and Kellee Allen, Ottawa, KS; his sister, Gladys Usher, Burnet, TX; his brother, Kenneth Sellers, Boise, ID; and twelve grandchildren. The family received friends on Tuesday, July 15, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
