Brubaker 1913-2003 Funeral services for Elmer J. Brubaker, 90, Harris, KS, were Thursday, October 9, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at Old German Baptist Church, Westphalia, KS. Interment was in Bethel Cemetery, Westphalia. Mr. Brubaker died Sunday, October 5, at his home. Elmer J. Brubaker was born September 29, 1913, at Holmsville, NE, the son of John I. and Cora L. (Fisher) Brubaker. His family moved to Westphalia when he was two and one half years old. He was baptized into the Old German Baptist Brethren Church in August 1934, to which he lived faithfully. He was a dairyman and grain farmer most of his life, work which he very much enjoyed. Elmer sold his farm and retired in 1970, and was a gardener and worked for farmers in the community. Elmer and Virginia Imogene Wray were married December 23, 1935. Casketbearers were Allen Brubaker, Clinton Brubaker, Troy Brubaker, Dale Flora, Brian Root, and Randall Flora. Mr. Brubaker was preceded in death by his parents, John I. and Cora L. Brubaker; his brothers-in-law, Chester Eichman and Dwayne Filbrun; his sisters, Emma Eichman and Mary Filbrun; and his sister-in-law, Eva Metzger. Elmer is survived by his wife, Virginia Imogene Brubaker, Harris, KS; his sons, Loren Wray Brubaker and his wife, Norma, Harris, KS, Verl John Brubaker and his wife, Margaret, Tuolumne, CA, and Marlin Elmer Brubaker and his wife, Peggy, Harris, KS: his grandchildren, Allen Brubaker, Elaine Flora, Clinton Brubaker, Eric Brubaker, Emily Root, Troy Brubaker, and Traci Flora; his sisters, Ruth Eichman, Garnett, and Ola Barnhart, Harris, KS; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 8, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” “Reva Dionne Myers 1914-2003 Funeral services for Reva Dionne Myers, 89, Iola, KS, are Friday, October 10, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Colony, KS, with Pastor Hubert Brown officiating.
