Wittman 1917-2003 Mass of Christian Burial for Albert Wittman, 86, Garnett, was Thursday, November 13, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Scipio, KS, with Father Emil Agostino as celebrant. Lectors were Laurie Morgan and Dean Kueser. Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery. Mr. Wittman died Sunday night, November 9, at Golden Heights Living Center, Garnett. Albert L. Wittman was born July 8, 1917, on the farm south of Greeley, KS, where he was raised, the son of Frank and Maryan (Michalek) Wittman. He continued to live there for 50 years after his marriage, after which he moved to Scipio for three years, and then to Garnett in 1998. He was a member of St. Boniface Church in Scipio, was a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus of Greeley, and was a member of the Greeley V.F.W. Albert was a dairy farmer. Albert and LaVerne Kueser were married November 27, 1945, at Scipio, KS. Mr. Wittman was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Ralph ‘Butch’ Katzer; his parents, Frank and Maryan Wittman; and his sisters, Veronica Foltz and Helena Foltz. Albert is survived by his wife, LaVerne, of the home; his sons, Dennis Wittman and his wife, Cinda, Ottawa, KS; Frank Wittman and his wife, Connie, Garnett, Tom Wittman and his wife, Debbie, Garnett, Tim Wittman and his wife, Sherry Jones, Garnett, and Tony Wittman; his daughters, Delores Morrison and her husband, Jack, Lavonia, MO, Alberta Jackson and her husband, Curt, Baldwin City, KS, Eileen Katzer, Greeley, KS, Mary Katzer and her husband, Tom, Greeley, KS. Music was provided by Mary Milner, organist, and Janice Foltz, Marilyn Foltz, and Angie Ellis, vocalists, who sang ‘Be Not Afraid’, and ‘Amazing Grace’; ‘Daddy’s Hands’ sung by Angie Ellis, and ‘Farmer’s Blues’. Casketbearers were Jim Foltz, Larry Foltz, Jeff Wittman, Merle Wittman, Robert Wittman, and Rod Wittman. Honorary casketbearers were Jeff Katzer, Shane Wittman, Lance Morrison, Joseph Wittman, Shawn Morrison, Eric Wittman, Curtis Wittman, John Foltz, Kenny Katzer, Frank Wittman, Chris Wittman, and Paul Willett. A Wake Service and Rosary was held on Wednesday, November 12, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the church with the family receiving friends afterwards. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” “Elsie E. Brown 1906-2003 Funeral services for Elsie E. Brown, Topeka, KS, formerly of Garnett, are Thursday, November 13, 2003, at 2:30 p.m. at Parker-Price Mortuary, 245 Independence, Topeka. Interment is in Grantville Cemetery, Grantville, KS.
