Wuckowitsch 1923-2003 Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn F. Wuckowitsch, 80, Garnett, was Monday, November 17, 2003, at 11:00 a.m., at St. John’s Catholic Church with Father George Matz as celebrant. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery. Mrs. Wuckowitsch died Thursday, November 13, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care. Evelyn F. Wuckowitsch was born August 25, 1923, at Deepwater, MO, the daughter of Thomas J. and Esther (Mabry) Anglen. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Greeley. She was a homemaker and also worked as a CAN for several area nursing homes. She worked for SRS doing home care services. Evelyn and Frank Wuckowitsch were married September 9, 1972, at Greeley. Mrs. Wuckowitsch was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas J. and Esther Anglen; her brother, Raymond Anglen; and her sister, Hallie Anglen. Evelyn is survived by her husband, Frank, Greeley, KS; her sons, Walter Church, Kansas City, KS, Roger Church, Crawford, CO, and Jim Church, Montrose, CO; her daughter, Carol Morehouse, Ava, MO; her grandchildren, Walter Church, Cathy Williamson, Suzanne Herd, Tracie Morehouse, and Chad Morehouse; her great-grandchildren, Travis Coulliette, Amanda Coulliette, Samantha Coulliette, Katlin Coulliette, Walter Church, Michael Herd, Harley Herd, and Shyanne Herd; her great-great-granddaughter Sierra Rose Coulliette; her brothers, Bob Anglen, California, Jerry Anglen and Montey Anglen, both of Branson, MP; her sisters, Norma Low, Fontana, KS, Wanda Yaw, Garnett, Judae Jamison, Fontana, KS, June Bacon, Allen KS, Dixie Barnett, Osawatomie, KS, and Linda Cawby, Lee’s Summit, MO. Music was provided by Laura Parks, organist, and Richard Parks, vocalist. Musical selections included “The Old Rugged Cross” and “You Are My Sunshine”. Casketbearers were Scott Church, Aron Herd, Clyde Katzer, Harold Katzer, Chad Morehouse, and Tony Wuckowitsch. The Rosary was said at 10:00 a.m. on Monday with the family greeting friends afterwards prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s Research and may be left in care of the funeral home. Gale Mack officiating. Interment is in Garnett Cemetery. Miss McGill died Friday, November 14, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care. Monna Nelle McGill was born July 14, 1910, at Lake Charles, LA, the only child of Nelle Graves McGill and Elmer H. McGill. She attended schools in Kansas City, MO, Mobile, AL, and Chicago, IL. She also attended Judson College, Marion, AL, and Northwestern University, Evanston, IL. She was graduated from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and performed professionally and semi-professionally on stage and in radio in New York and Kansas City, where she taught dramatics for two years at the Conservatory of Music. Monna came with her parents from Electric Mills, MS, to Garnett. She briefly was a copywriter at TWA and Western Auto in Kansas City but upon her father’s death, returned to Garnett. She was city editor of the “Anderson Countian” for 11 years, during which time she was also correspondent for the “Kansas City Star” and the Associated Press. She was secretary at Garnett State Savings Bank for 17 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Vista Study Club, a bridge club, and the Methodist church. Monna published short stories, poetry, monologues, and essays in newspapers, in regional, poetry, dramatic, and national magazines including the “Kansas Magazine”, “Coronet”, and the “Southern Lumberman”. Miss McGill was preceded in death by her parents, Nelle Graves McGill and Elmer H. McGill. Monna is survived by her cousins, Loma Lawrence, Garnett, and Lois Graves, Accata, CA. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Walker Art Collection. Farrie-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 3: “William G. Gadelman 1915-2003 Funeral services for William G. Gadelman, 88, Garnett, were Monday, November 17, 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Gadelman died Thursday, November 13, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care. William G. Gadelman was born August 3, 1915, at Palisades, CO, the son of William P. and Celesta (Jones) Gadelman. He was a lifetime resident of Garnett and served as Anderson County Sheriff from 1963 to 1981. He served in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of Garnett V.F.W. Memorial Post #6397 and Delphian Lodge #44. Mr. Gadelman was preceded in death by his parents, William P. and Celesta Gadelman; his brother, Milo Gadelman; and his sister, Doris Norton. William is survived by his sisters, Mary Ellsworth and Helen Gadelman, both of Houston, TX, and Jean Phillips, Greeley, CO. Music was provided by Jeanine Zentner, organist, and Scott Schulte, vocalist. Musical selections included “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Just A Close Walk With Thee”. Casketbearers were Jim Ellsworth, Jerry Gadelman, Richard Gadelman, Pat Norton, Howard Williams, and Ed Wolken. A military honor guard was provided by V.F.W. Post #6397 and Fuller-Thompson American Legion Post #48. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Crippled Children’s Hospital.
