Interment was in Holy Angels Cemetery. Mr. Feuerborn died Monday, December 8, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care. Matthew Joseph Feuerborn was born January 13, 1904, in Anderson County, KS, the son of Henry and Margaret (Wolken) Feuerborn. He was a lifetime resident of the Garnett area. Matt worked for Seymour Packing Company in Garnett for 13 years, and for seven more years at the Topeka plant. He then worked for the Anderson County Road Department for 10 years before working for 14 years at Holy Angels Parish as custodian at the school and church, retiring in 1980. Matt was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Matt and Irene Pickert were married February 20, 1933, at Garnett. She survives in Garnett. Mr. Feuerborn was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret Feuerborn; seven brothers and sisters; and two infant grandchildren. Matt is also survived by his sons, Leon Feuerborn and his wife Mary, Altamont, KS, and Carl Feuerborn, Garnett; his daughters, Rosalie Rommelfanger and her husband Leonard, Dorothy Lickteig and her husband Cecil, Lois Miller and her husband Jerry, and Donna Carr and her husband, J.D., all of Garnett; 10 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren, and 23 step-great-grandchildren. Music was provided by Mary Milner, organist, and Scott Theis, soloist. Musical selections included “I Am the Bread of Life”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, “Hosea”, and “How Great Thou Art”. Casketbearers were Dean Feuerborn, Gary Rommelfanger, Alan Rommelfanger, Ken Lickteig, Mike Lickteig, Ron Lickteig, Jeff Lickteig, Jerry Lickteig, David Carr, and Daniel Carr. Gift bearers were Karen Greiner, Joyce Katzer, Reva Pracht, and Cara Feuerborn. The Rosary was said on Wednesday, December 10, at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Wake Service and visitation following. Reilly 1911-2003 Funeral Mass for Margaret M. Reilly, 91, Iola, KS, formerly of Westphalia, KS, was Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, Iola, with Rev. Leon Kerschen celebrant. Interment was in St. Theresa’s Cemetery, Westphalia. Mrs. Reilly died Friday, December 5, at Windsor Place Nursing Center, Iola. Margaret M. Reilly was born December 29, 1911, at Westphalia, the daughter of Charles William and Margaret Ellen (Weingartner) Burger. She grew up in Westphalia where she played on the school’s basketball team. Margaret had been active in the Anderson County Farm Bureau and Democratic Committee. She was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Altar Society in Iola. Margaret and Fred Patrick Reilly were married March 29, 1937, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church. They made their home on a farm southeast of town where they farmed together for almost 50 years. Fred died in 1983. Margaret moved to Iola in 1990. Mrs. Reilly was also preceded in death by her son, John Charles Reilly; and two brothers, John and Francis ‘Andy’ Burger. Margaret is survived by her granddaughters, Kathleen Myers and her husband Eric, Overland Park, KS, and Stephanie Sager and her husband Mike, Jackson, MS; her great-grandsons, Evan Myers and Will Sager; her daughter-in-law, Linda Watson and her husband, Bob, Iola, KS; her brother, Leo Burger and his wife Priscilla, Kansas City, MO; and several nieces and nephews. The family received friends on Monday, December 8, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rosary was recited at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, preceding the service. Mr. Peine died early Monday morning, December 8, at Golden Heights Living Center. Raymond H. Peine was born November 21, 1923, at Garnett, the son of Ferdinand and Sophia (Mader) Peine. He was a dairyman and farmer his entire life. He moved to Garnett from his farm in September, 2003. Mr. Peine was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church. Raymond and Mildred Lickteig were married June 20, 1946, at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett. Mr. Peine was preceded in death by his son Clyde Peine, in 1976; his grandson Kent Christopher Peine in 1982; his parents Ferdinand and Sophia Peine; three brothers and six sisters. Raymond is survived by his wife Mildred, of the home; his sons, Ray Peine and his wife, Cheri, Garnett, Ron Peine and his wife, Marilyn, Greeley, KS, Earl Peine and his wife, Ruth, Garnett, and Robert A. Peine and his wife Joann, Parker, KS; his daughter Margie Fox and her husband, Larry, Richmond, KS; his daughter-in-law Clarann Kempnich and her husband, Robert, and her children, Brenda Kempnich and Robert Kempnich, Jr., Garnett; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Music was provided by Jeanine Zentner, organist, and Scott Schulte, soloists. Musical selections included “Prayer of St. Francis”, “Lord’s Prayer”, and “God Bless America”. Casketbearers were Margie Fox, Lorrie Peine, Ray Peine, Earl Peine, Ron Peine, and Robert Peine. Honorary casketbearers were Clarissa Peine, Larry Fox, Mike Fox, Lori Fox, Clarann Kempnich, Robert Kempnich, Brenda Kempnich, and Robert Kempnich, Jr. Those in the processional were Kyle Peine, Trint Peine, Justin Peine, and Janet Fox. Gift bearers were Ruth Peine, Whitney Peine, Rose Peine, and Annetta Eubanks. Lectors were Cheri Peine, Marilyn Peine, and Joann Peine. Servers were Kyle Peine and Michael Hermreck. Jim Blocker officiating. Interment is in Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Roberts died Saturday, December 6, at Anderson County Hospital Long Term Care. William Albert Roberts was born December 25, 1917, at Garnett, the son of William Winfield and Mary Anne (Ballard) Roberts. He served with the United States Army during World War II. Al was a member of the Independence VFW and the First Baptist Church of Independence. He was a small appliance sales manager. Al and Beryl Anne Henderson were married in Independence, KS. She preceded him in death. Mr. Roberts was also preceded in death by his parents, William Winfield and Mary Anne Roberts; and two brothers. Al is survived by his daughter, Karen White, Hamilton, MO; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will greet friends on Saturday, December 13, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
