Dora was born October 16, 1904, at Scipio, KS, the daughter of Fred and Theresa (Brummel) Litsch. On January 10, 1927, she was united in marriage with Henry King. She was a homemaker. After the death of her husband, she married John Moore on May 3, 1952. After his death, she married Claude Boots on July 7, 1976. He also preceded her in death. Dora was a lifetime resident of Anderson County and a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Garnett. Mrs. Boots was preceded in death by her husbands, Henry King, John Moore, and Claude Boots; her parents, Fred and Theresa Litsch; and her sisters, Barbara Mersman, Emma Mardick, Stella Nickson, Ethyle Bartee, and Helen Cooper. Dora is survived by her brothers, Fred Litsch, Garnett, and LeRoy Litsch, Osawatomie, KS. Funeral services were held Monday, February 2, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Garnett, with Father George Matz and Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Dora was laid to rest in Holy Angels Cemetery. Casketbearers were Fred Litsch, Bob Boots, Leonard Benjamin, Maurice Horner, Brooks Berggren, and Ron Sears. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 2: “Richard Lee Turner 1938-2004 Funeral services for Richard Lee Turner, 65, Ottawa, KS, were Monday, February 9, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Dengel and Son Mortuary with Pastor Glen Layton officiating. Interment was in Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville, KS. Mr. Turner died Wednesday, February 4, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. Richard Lee Turner was born April 20, 1938, at Effingham, KS, the son of Wilber C. and Eunice (Lynn) Turner. He graduated from Lawrence High School with the Class of 1957. He had lived in the Ottawa area since 1998, moving there from Pomona. In the early 1970’s and 1980’s he lived in Whittier, CA, and in Wellsville from 1982 to 1993. For 11 years in the 1950’s and 1960’s, Richard was employed as parts manager for Bendix Corporation in Kansas City, MO. He was a boiler operator for Hercules Sunflower Ammunition Plant in DeSoto, and from 1969 to 1975, he was an oil field supervisor for Shull Oil Company in Signal Hill, CA. He owned several different businesses in oil drilling and construction. He was a self-employed handyman in the Ottawa area, under the business name of Fairly Well Construction, “One step above welfare”. Mr. Turner was a former member and president of the Outcast Hot Rod Club in Lawrence, many equestrian organizations in California, and the Windmill Breakfast Club in Ottawa. Richard and Cora Rice were married November 14, 1959, at Miami, OK. They were later divorced. Mr. Turner was preceded in death by his parents, Wilber C. and Eunice Turner; and his brothers, Terry Turner, Bill Turner, and Bob Turner. Richard is survived by his children, Randy Lee Turner, Richmond, KS, Tammy Gimbel, Lynnwood, WA, Douglas Wayne Turner, Richmond, KS, and Rashell Dawn Osburn, Lee’s Summit, MO; his sisters, Nancy Harris, Las Vegas, NV, Betty Moon, Phoenix, AZ, and Susie Stamps, Lafayette, AR; his brothers, Jim Turner, Ottawa, KS, Ted Turner, Osage Beach, MO, and Don Turner, Texas; and nine grandchildren. The family greeted friends on Sunday, February 8, from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Richard Lee Turner Memorial Fund, in care of the funeral home. Campbell, 87, Garnett, were Monday, February 9, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ann Loewe officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell died Thursday, February 5, at Anderson County Hospital. Audrey P. Campbell was born September 16, 1916, in Linn County, KS, the daughter of Grover and Rose (Turner) Mickens. She attended the Jingo and Greeley schools. Audrey received her Bachelor’s degree from Pittsburg State Teachers College and taught school at Osawatomie, and later at Greeley High School for 25 years, retiring in 1965. She was a member of the United Brethren in Christ Church, Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, B.P.W., and the JJJ Neighborhood Club. Audrey and John Campbell were married June 13, 1948, at Garnett. He preceded her in death on August 18, 1982. Music was provided by Laura Parks, organist, and Richard Parks, soloist. Musical selections included “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross”. Casketbearers were Jerry Criqui, Douglas Miller, Steve Weiss, Jesse Hale, Curtis Umbarger, and James White. Honorary casketbearer was Jerry Umbarger. Mrs. Campbell was also preceded in death by her parents, Grover and Rose Mickens; and her brother, Mearle Mickens. Audrey is survived by her niece, Bonnie Burr, Independence, MO; and friends, Liz and Jerry Zastrow, Garnett. The family greeted friends on Sunday, February 8, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Brethren in Christ Church.
