Mrs. Foster died Thursday, January 1, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. Lora Bernice Foster was born March 13, 1920, at Humboldt, KS, the daughter of Charles and Lora Elizabeth (Latimer) Dietrich. She attended schools in Humboldt. Mrs. Foster had lived in Ottawa since 1972, moving there from Carlyle, KS, where she had resided since her marriage. She was a lifelong homemaker. She also worked six years at Crestview Nursing Home, Ottawa, and in the Nursing Department of Ransom Memorial Hospital, Ottawa, from 1979 to 1989. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ottawa. Lora and Robert W. Foster were married January 21, 1942, at Iola, KS. He preceded her in death on September 25, 1996. Mrs. Foster was also preceded in death by her daughter, Lora Jane Foster; her parents, Charles and Lora Elizabeth Dietrich; her brothers, Ed Dietrich, Francis Dietrich, Walter Dietrich, and Louis Dietrich; and her sister, Pamiella Dietrich. Lora is survived by her daughters, Betty Sutterby, Olathe, KS, and Patricia M. Johnson, Ottawa, KS; her sons, Robert W. Foster, Humansville, MO, James W. Foster, Lawrence E. Foster, and Fredrick J. Foster, all of Ottawa, KS; her brothers, Ira Dietrich and Tom Dietrich, both of Wichita, KS, Joe Dietrich, Kincaid, KS, and Charles Dietrich, Iola, KS: her sisters, Margaret Marvin and Theresa Cox, both of Wichita, KS: three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Rosary was said on Sunday, January 4, at 5:00 p.m. followed by a family visitation. Dengel and Son Mortuary, was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 4: “John Dwayne Clark 1934-2003 Funeral services for John Dwayne Clark, 69, Ottawa, KS, were Saturday, January 3, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Interment was in Richmond Cemetery, Richmond, KS. Mr. Clark died Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at his home. John Dwayne Clark was born December 17, 1934, at Richmond, KS, the son of Joe and Elva ‘Birdean’ (Whipple) Clark. He graduated from Richmond High School with the Class of 1952. John was a lifelong Franklin County, KS, resident, having lived in Ottawa since 1969. John served in the United States Army National Guard from July 1, 1952, to June 30, 1955. He joined the United States Marine Corps September 21, 1956, and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1960. He received the Good Conduct Medal. In the 1970’s and 1980’s, he worked for Bendix Mobil Homes in Ottawa; for Simon R.O. Manufacturing in Olathe in the early 1990’s; and for E&E Display in Lawrence in the late 1990’s, retiring in 1999. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Richmond. John and Wilma Cook were married June 18, 1960, at Nevada, MO. They later divorced. Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Elva ‘Birdean’ Clark. John is survived by his daughter, Penny Casillas, Blackwell, OK; his sons, Monte S. Clark, Toby Clark, and Tad R. Clark, all of Ottawa; his sister, Martha Chambers, Ottawa; his brother, Robert Clark, McPherson, KS; and 11 grandchildren. The family greeted friends on Friday, January 2, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice.
