Interment is in Holy Angels Cemetery. Mrs. Dyrdek died Sunday, April 4, at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka. A Rosary service was held on Tuesday, April 6, at 7:00 p.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with the family greeting friends afterwards. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Angels School. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.” “Dorothy V. Hawes 1913-2004 Graveside services and interment for Dorothy V. Hawes, 91, Welda, KS, were Friday, April 2, 2004, at 3:00 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, KS, with Rev. Jerry McCarty officiating. Mrs. Hawes died Thursday, April 1, at Golden Heights Living Center, Garnett. Dorothy V. Hawes was born September 1, 1913, at Kansas City, KS, the daughter of John W. and Bessie May (Harman) Tuttle. She moved to Welda Lake from Kansas City, KS, in 1969. Dorothy and Lloy Hawes were married September 15, 1929, at Kansas City, KS. Mrs. Hawes was preceded in death by her husband, Lloy, in 1983; her grandson, William L. Rusk, on January 10, 2004; her parents, John and Bessie Tuttle; three brothers and one sister. Dorothy is survived by her sons, Robert E. Hawes, Kansas City, KS, and John R. Hawes, Welda, KS; her daughters, Bonnie Ruck, Welda, KS, and Betty Mayden, Liberty, MO; 18 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 21 great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Abdellah Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital Fund.
