Church 1920-2004 Funeral services for Louise D. Church, Iola, KS, formerly of Kincaid, KS, were Saturday, April 24, 2004, at Kincaid-Selma United Methodist Church, Kincaid, with Rev. Lee Bahney officiating. Interment was in Lone Elm Cemetery, Lone Elm, KS. Mrs. Church died Tuesday, April 20, at Windsor Place, Iola, KS. Louise D. Church was born April 18, 1920, at Bayard, KS, the daughter of Isaac and Carrie May (Booth) Decker. She moved with her family to the Lone Elm community in 1932. She graduated from Lone Elm High School in 1938. Louise accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized October 1, 1978, in Kincaid. She attended the Kincaid Methodist Church, then later became a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Iola. She worked as a receptionist, bookkeeper, and later drove a school bus until she retired. Louise was a Sunday School teacher, 4-H Clothing leader, and church youth group sponsor. She loved her family, enjoyed bowling, fishing, and making quilts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Louise and Kenneth Wayne Church were married March 3, 1940, at Iola. He preceded her in death on August 20, 1988. Mrs. Church was also preceded in death by an infant daughter; her parents, Isaac and Carrie May Decker; her brothers, Frank, Charles, and Martin Decker; her sister, Wilma Spillman; and two infant sisters, Beula Decker and Grace Decker. Louise is survived by her son, Richard Church and his wife, Lou, Kincaid, KS; her daughter, Phyllis Luedke, Colony, KS; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Music was provided by Kathryn Sarver, organist, and Don Bauer, vocalist. Musical selections included 'One Day At A Time', and 'How Great Thou Art'. Casketbearers were Randall Beckmon, Travis Church, Robbie Church, Brent Luedke, Craig Luedke, and Dirk Nichols. Honorary casketbearers were Jack Decker, Lawrence Gilliland, Rollin Hernyk, Decker Spillman, and Jack Spillman. The family received friends on Friday, April 23, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Colony. Memorials may be made to the Kincaid-Selma United Methodist Church. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 3: "Marlyn Darrold Hager 1933-2004 Funeral services for Marlyn Darrold Hager, 70, WaKeeney, KS, were Friday, April 23, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Presbyterian Church, WaKeeney, with Rev. Wayne Lofton officiating. Interment was in WaKeeney City Cemetery. Mr. Hager died Monday, April 19, at Trego-Lemke Memorial Hospital, WaKeeney. Marlyn Darrold Hager was born November 10, 1933, at Hays, KS, the son of William O. and Ellen Abigail (Tawney) Hager. He attended Ogallah Grade School and Garnett High School. Mr. Hager was a self-employed welder. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and Masonic Lodge, both in WaKeeney, and had served in the United States Army. Marlyn and Virginia L. 'Jody' Wedermyer were married October 10, 1955, at the Presbyterian Church in WaKeeney. She preceded him in death on June 30, 2003. Mr. Hager was also preceded in death by his parents, William and Ellen Hager; his brother, Dwaine Hager; and his sister, Marilyn Winters. Marlyn is survived by his sons, Tim Hager, WaKeeney, KS, and Bill Hager, Olathe, KS; his daughters, Mona Burt, Topeka, KS, and Cindy Welch, WaKeeney, KS; his sister, Nelda Tawney, Garnett; and seven grandchildren. The family received friends on Thursday, April 22, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Presbyterian Church and sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 336 North 12th, WaKeeney, KS 67672. Schmitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements."
