Interment was in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Gregg died Sunday, April 25, at Village Manor Nursing Home, Ottawa. Frances Elizabeth Gregg was born September 3, 1914, at Ottawa, the daughter of Jasper and Nettie (Hicks) Davies. She grew up in Princeton and graduated from Princeton High School with the Class of 1934. She moved to Ottawa in 1934. In the 1970's, she attended Ottawa University. Frances was a lifelong homemaker. She also worked in social services for Headstart in Ottawa for 17 years, retiring in 1986. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Ottawa. She was also a Brownie Scout leader, member of Army Mothers, and a member of the Ottawa Antique Car Club. Frances and Jesse Gregg were married July 21, 1934, in Paola, KS. He preceded her in death on May 24, 1984. Mrs. Gregg was also preceded in death by her daughter, Juanita Enehlen; an infant daughter, Shirley Jean Gregg; her parents, Jasper and Nettie Davies; her brother, George Davies; and her sisters, Margaret Zook and May Alice Richards. Frances is survived by her daughter, Gladys Anderson, Garnett; her sons, Lee Gregg, Pittsburg, KS, and William 'Bill' Gregg, Ottawa; her sister, Grace Hill, Parsons, KS; and 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. The family met with friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 27, from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Franklin County Cancer Foundation and left in care of the funeral home. Dengel and Son Mortuary was in charge of arrangements." "Ella Porter 1925-2004 Ella Porter, 78, Ottawa, KS, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Life Care Center of Osawatomie, Osawatomie, KS. There were no funeral services. Interment was in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton, KS. Ella Porter was born December 12, 1925, at Quenemo, KS, the daughter of Clarence and Ella (Cook) Greenfield. She attended schools in Quenemo and was a lifelong resident of Franklin County. Ella was a lifelong homemaker. Ella and Clevy C. Porter were married December 9, 1942, at Garnett. Mrs. Porter was preceded in death by her son, Delmer D. Porter; her parents, Clarence and Ella Greenfield; her sisters, Althea Moon, Verla Caldwell, and Carrie Greenfield; and her brothers, Albert Greenfield and Ermil Greenfield. Ella is survived by her husband, Clevy C. Porter, Osawatomie; her daughters, E. Charlene (Porter) Oyler, Topeka, KS; her sons, Cecil Porter, Sr., Ottawa, and Robert Porter, Hagerstown, MD; her sister, Ava Watts, Topeka, KS; and several grandchildren. The family met with friends on Sunday, April 25, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and left in care of the funeral home. Page 5, Column 3: "Floyd Eugene Stephenson 1914-2004 Funeral services for Floyd Eugene Stephenson, 90, Kansas City, KS, were Monday, April 26, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Judy Brown officiating. Interment was in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, KS. Mr. Stephenson died Thursday, April 22, at St. Luke's South Hospital, Overland Park, KS. Floyd Eugene Stephenson was born May 19, 1914, at Kansas City, KS, the son of Stephen and Isebelle (McDonnal) Stephenson, the twelfth of fourteen children. He completed eight years of school then joined the United States Marine Corps in 1942, serving for years. Upon completion of service, he went to work for the Rock Island Railroad and was Yard Master when he retired in 1975. Floyd married Ida Johnson, who preceded him in death in 1984. He later married Violet Kauten in 1985. She also preceded him in death in 1995. No children were born to either union. Mr. Stephenson was also preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Isebelle Stephenson; and twelve brothers and sisters. Floyd is survived by one brother, Woodrow Stephenson, Kansas City, KS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Music was provided by Pam McSwane, pianist, and Angela Miller and Donna Murphy, vocalists. Musical selections included 'The Eastern Gate', 'Rock of Ages', and 'Old Rugged Cross'. Visitation for Mr. Stephenson was held Sunday, April 25, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Memorials are suggested in his memory to the Garnett Assembly of God Church.
