'Bill' Williams 1943-2004 Funeral services for William H. 'Bill' Williams, 60, Garnett, were Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel. Cremation followed the service. Mr. Williams died Sunday, June 6, as the result of cardiac arrest. William H. Williams was born August 16, 1943, at Westfield, NY, the son of Ralph Williams, Sr. and Sarah (Banks) Williams. He grew up in Ripley, NY, moving to Garnett in 1982. He graduated from Ripley Central School. He moved to Queen City, TX, in 1987, returning to Garnett in 1997. He worked as a welder at Ajax (Reynolds) in Ripley, owned and operated two restaurants in Queen City. He supported his wife in her ownership of the Sherwood Inn in Garnett. Bill and Denise G. DeVoe were married November 19, 1971, at Brockton, NY. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Sarah Williams; his brother, Raymond Williams; and his niece, Darlene Williams. Bill is survived by his wife, Denise, of the home; his son, David Williams, Garnett; his step-son, Terry McCullough, Garnett; his daughters, Machelle Long, North East, PA, and Vickie Millington, Garnett; his brother, Ralph Williams, Jr., Ripley, NY; his grandchildren, Robert, Nathan, and Adam Long, Alisha and Zach Smothers, Kayla McCullough, Ethan Lickteig, and Brady, Andrew, and Brittany McCullough; his niece, Colleen Rucks, Erie, PA; and Michael Williams, Westfield, NY. The family greeted friends from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial donations will be accepted to help defray expenses. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." "Donald Newton Bailey 1918-2004 Funeral services for Donald Newton Bailey, 85, Topeka, KS, formerly of Garnett and Welda, are Friday, June 11, 2004, at 10:30 a.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel, Garnett, with Pastor Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment is in Welda Cemetery. Mr. Bailey died Monday, June 7, at Topeka. Memorials in his name may be made to Heartland Hospice, Topeka.
