Masingill 1955-2004 Memorial services for Phyllis L. Masingill, 49, Garnett, were Friday, October 15, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ann Loewe officiating. Cremation. Mrs. Masingill died Tuesday, October 12. Phyllis L. Masingill was born August 13, 1955, at Chickasha, OK, the daughter of Ivie and Odessa (Flemming) Jackson. She grew up in Oklahoma, living in Shawnee and Maud before moving to Garnett in 1998. Phyllis attended school in Shawnee. She attended the United Brethren Church in Garnett. Phyllis and Jim Masingill were married February 18, 1972, at Shawnee. Mrs. Masingill was preceded in death by her parents, Ivie and Odessa Jackson. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jim of Garnett; her son, Steven Masingill of Garnett; her daughter, Lisa Pope and her husband Joe, also of Garnett; and her sisters, Debbie Jones of Meeker, OK, and Susan McClain of Oklahoma City, OK. Music was provided by Jon Covault, organist, and Vicki Gerdsen, vocalist. Musical selections included “Precious Lord”, “Take My Hand” and “I Can Only Imagine”. The family greeted friends on Thursday, October 14, from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Phyllis Masingill Fund, to be established at a later date.” “Dorothy C. Farwell 1931-2004 Funeral services for Dorothy C. Farwell, 72, Kansas City, MO, were Wednesday, October 13, 2004, at 7:00 p.m. at D. W. Newcomer’s Son White Chapel, Gladstone, MO. Graveside services and interment were Thursday, October 14, at 2:00 p.m. at Cherry Mound Cemetery, Westphalia. Mrs. Farwell died Sunday, October 10, at her home. Dorothy C. Farwell was born December 31, 1931, at Westphalia, the daughter of Edward and Esther (Kelly) Thomas. She worked for McPike Drug Company prior to her retirement in 1996. Mrs. Farwell was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Esther Farwell; her son, Robert E. Farwell; her sisters, Mary Louise Young and Helen Thomas; her brother, Donald E. Thomas; and her sister-in-law, Billie Thomas. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Debra Loveland and her grandson, Michael Loveland, both of Kansas City, MO; her brother, Paul Thomas of St. Louis, MO; and her nephews, Tom Young of Westphalia, and Doug Thomas of Leawood. She will be greatly missed by her family and many, many friends. The family greeted friends on Wednesday, October 13, from 6:00 p.m. until service time at White Chapel. Feighner 1909-2004 Funeral services for Juanita F. Feighner, 95, Fontana, were Saturday, October 16, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Fontana with Pastor Brad Fogo officiating. Interment was in Fontana Cemetery. Mrs. Feighner died Tuesday, October 12, at Paola. Juanita F. Feighner was born January 19, 1909, at Otis, the daughter of Horace G. and Mary C. (Foster) Middleton. She grew up in Kansas City, KS, moving to Fontana in the 1940’s where she lived the rest of her life. She was a cook at Fontana Middle School for 15 years, retiring in 1976. She was former Mayor and served on the city council for the City of Fontana. Juanita served on the Mid-America Council for Aging and was a founding member of the Paola Senior Center. Juanita and Glen Duane Feighner were married February 2, 1927, at Olathe. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1999. Mrs. Feighner was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Lou Billingsly; four grandchildren; her sisters, Beulah, Daisy, Emma, and Dorothy; and her parents, Horace and Mary Middleton. Juanita is survived by her sons, Glen Duane Feighner, Jr. of Drexel, MO, Hubert Feighner of Overland Park, and Jim Feighner of Yates Center; her daughters, Dorothy Watson of Garnett, and Patsy Coffey and Janet Smith, both of Osawatomie; 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Musical selections included “Holes In the Floor of Heaven”, “Just As I Am”, and “Tennesse Waltz”. Casketbearers were Monte Billingsly, Dustin Feighner, Kelly Feighner, Todd Feighner, Mike Ritch, and Toby Smith. Honorary casketbearers were Mark Ritch and Jeffrey Volland. Bell, M.S., 71, Richmond, were Thursday, October 14, 2004, at 11:00 p.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Don Phillips officiating. Interment was in Richmond Cemetery. Mr. Bell died Tuesday, October 12. Arthur O. Bell was born August 28, 1933, in Stone County, AR, the son of Oscar H. and Ruby C. (Eversoll) Bell. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City with a Bachelor of Arts degree, and from Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia with a Master’s degree. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Arthur was a psychologist. He worked for the AT & SF Railroad as a journeyman electrician and later worked as a safety officer at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, retiring in 1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bow fishing, as well as collecting guns and watching Kansas City Chiefs. He gave firearm instructions on his gun range, Bell Pistol Range. Arthur was a member of Psy-Chi National Honor Society; Westgate Lodge #438, Kansas City, KS; and Mensa. Arthur and Lucille I. Bell were married September 29, 1856, at Olathe. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ruby Bell; and his sister, Rosa Sparks. Arthur is survived by his daughters, Reney Turner of Richmond, Julie Couch of Pomona, Kristi Rhoades of Ramona, and Mickey Stroda of Herington; his brothers, Everett L. Bell of Osawatomie, and Joseph J. Bell of Basehor; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Musical selections were “Living Years”, “Oh, My Paw Paw”, “On The Wings Of A Snow White Dove”, and “He Stopped Loving Her Today”. Casketbearers were Shirley Burwell, Bob Calcott, Bill Rhodes, Josh Roehl, B.J. Rose, Arthur Stroda, Steven Stroda, and Doug Turner.
