Jamison 1915-2004 Funeral services for William R. Jamison, 89, Quinter, were Wednesday, November 24, 2004, at 9:30 a.m. at Old German Baptist Brethren Church, Quinter. Interment was in Big Creek Cemetery, Quinter. Mr. Jamison died Sunday, November 21, at Gove County Long Term Care, Quinter. William R. Jamison was born January 2, 1915, in rural Gove County, KS, the son of Walter Cabel and Mary (Flory) Jamison. He attended rural schools in Gove County. He was a dairy farmer, who retired in 1978. William and Anna L. Garber were married October 9, 1935, at her parents’ home in Sawyer, KS. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2001. Mr. Jamison was also preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Jamison; his daughter, Ada Maxine Jamison; his grandson, Jeremy Edgecomb; four brothers and four sisters. William is survived by his sons, Calvin Jamison, Charles Jamison, Gary ‘Chub’ Jamison, and Galen E. Jamison, all of Quinter; his daughters, Anna Mae Hirt of Westphalia, and Janet Edgecomb of Kokomo, IN; his brother, Houston Jamison, Collyer, KS; 20 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Gove County Medical Center Long Term Care. Schmitt Funeral Home, Quinter, was in charge of arrangements.” Page 7, Column 2: “Stormy LeAnn Helms July 6-December 4, 2004 Funeral services for Stormy LeAnn Helms, four months, were Tuesday, December 7, 2004, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Stormy died Saturday, December 4, at Children’s Mercy Hospital where she had been hospitalized since birth with hypo-plastic left heart syndrome and Turners Syndrome. Stormy LeAnn Helms was born July 6, 2004, at Shawnee Mission, KS, the daughter of Charles ‘Ray’ Helms II and Whitney Ann (Schafer) Helms. She was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Ray Helms III; her grandmother, Roberta Starbuck; and her great-grandmother, Dollie Nickelson. Stormy is survived by her parents, Charles Ray Helms and Whitney Schafer; her half-brother, Dean Helms of Salt Lake City, UT; her half-sister, Lily Ann Helms, also of Salt Lake City; her grandparents, Charles R. and Willie Helms of Meade, Anna Lauber of Parker, David Landgren of Pueblo, CO, and Arvle Starbuck of Garnett; her great-grandparents, George and Betty Helms of Colony, and Robert Nickelson of Garnett, George and Betty Sertz of Parker, and Raymond and Rita Landgren of Colorado; and many relatives and friends. Musical selections included “Jesus Loves Me”, “Animal Crackers”, and “That’s What It’s All About”. Casketbearers were Charles R. Helms I, David Landgren, Tyler Shafer, Arvle Starbuck, John Helms, and Joe Stanfield. Memorials may be made for family expenses or to the Ronald McDonald House. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” Page 7, Column 3: “Frieda Foltz 1935-2004 Funeral services for Frieda Foltz, 69, Ottawa, were Saturday, November 27, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Dengel and Son Mortuary with Rev. Jan McGee officiating. Interment was in Princeton Cemetery, Princeton. Mrs. Foltz died Tuesday, November 23, at her home. Frieda Foltz was born July 31, 1935, at Princeton, the daughter of Memory E. and Julia Margaret (Kissinger) Kochenower. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident, attending Acorn School and graduating from Princeton High School with the Class of 1953. She also attended business school in Kansas City, MO. Following business school, she worked for H.D. Lee in Ottawa as a supervisor. She and her husband, Richard, owned a grocery store in Princeton. She also helped her sister drive flag cars when her brother-in-law hauled trailer houses across Kansas. She was a cook at the L&L Restaurant in Ottawa until it closed. She then cooked at Ransom Memorial Hospital and, finally, at Franklin County Day Care until her illness in 2000. Frieda was a member of Princeton United Methodist Church and Princeton United Methodist Women. She was an active leader in the Acorn Rustler’s 4-H Club. Frieda and Richard Foltz were married in 1955. They later divorced. Mrs. Foltz was preceded in death by her parents, Memory and Julia Kochenower; her son, Steven Foltz; and her sister, Mary Ellen Malburg. Frieda is survived by her daughters, Christie Massengale of Ottawa and Kathi Branyon of Gardner; her son, Roger Foltz of Augusta; her grandchildren, Ashley and Aaron Massengale, Crystal and Amanda Branyon, and Blaize, Brady, and Jenna Foltz; her son-in-law, Bart Branyon; and her daughter-in-law, Linda Foltz.
