Iva Cline 1901-2005 Funeral services for M. Iva Cline, 104, Centerville, were Monday, December 19, 2005, at Centerville Community Church with Pastor Nancy J. Snyder officiating. Interment was in Centerville Cemetery. Mrs. Cline died Thursday, December 15, at Meadowbrook Rehab Hospital in Gardner. M. Iva Cline was born October 14, 1901, on a farm near Peru in Chautauqua County, KS, where she grew up. She attended school in Chautauqua County and graduated from Caney High School. She attended college at Kansas State Normal, also attending there after it became known as Kansas State Teachers College of Emporia, the University of California at Berkley, and Ottawa University from which she received her Bachelor of Arts degree. Iva taught school in Scott County near Modac, in Wichita and Chautauqua Counties, fourth grade in the Caney Public School system, two years at Sugar Valley School in Anderson County, 16 years at Centerville, and retiring from Parker. Following retiring, she substituted until she was into her 80's. Iva attended the Centerville Community Church. She was president of the local N.E.A. Chapter in 1968, and enjoyed traveling, her flowers, and gardening. Iva and Charles Wesley Cline were married September 10, 1932, in Independence, KS. He preceded her in death on February 14, 1982. Mrs. Cline was also preceded in death by her parents; her five sisters, Elsie, Verna, Effie, Erma, and Myrtle; and her brother, Fred. Iva is survived by her son, Donald C. Cline of Shawnee; her grandchildren, Janice Geyer and husband, Eddie of Moberly, MO, and Wesley C. Cline and wife Linda S. of Independence, MO; and her great-grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Charles, Jennifer, Melody and Rachelle of Moberly, MO, and Jerald and Amber of Independence, MO. Music was provided by Susie Mahon, organist, and Richard Parks, soloist. Musical selections included 'In The Garden' and 'We Are Going Down The Valley'. Memorial contributions may be made to the Centerville Community Church. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." "Harold O. Johnson 1910-2005 Funeral services for Harold O. Johnson, 95, Savonburg, KS, are Friday, December 23, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Friends Home Lutheran Church west of Savonburg with Kathy Sanley officiating. Interment is in Swedish Cemetery, Savonburg. Mr. Johnson died Monday, December 19, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, MO. The family will greet friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church prior to the services on Friday. Feuerborn Family Funeral Service, Moran, is in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 3: "Warren Duane Holt 1945-2005 Funeral services for Warren Duane Holt, 60, Owensboro, KY, formerly of Welda, were Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel in Garnett with Rev. Bill Caudle officiating. Interment was in Welda Cemetery. Mr. Holt died Friday, December 16, at his home. Warren Duane Holt was born November 4, 1945, at Liberal, the son of the late George 'Bob' and Margaret (Brown) Holt. He retired after 38 years as a Senior Budget Analyst from Southern Star. He made woodworking and made his children's furniture. He also made the furniture for Grandma's Corner. Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Mullins. Warren is survived by his wife of 34 years, Nancy Holt; his daughter, Laura Holt of Owensboro, KY; his son, Andy Holt of Tulsa, OK; his brothers and sisters, Harold Holt and his wife Doris of Centerville, GA, Evelyn Brecheisen of Wellsville, Jean Chitwood and her husband Wayne of Welda, Venita Money and her husband John of Silver Creek, GA, Dean Holt and his wife Karen of Midwest City, OK, and Eunice Thompson and husband Bill of Topeka; his grandson, A.J. Holt of Tulsa, OK; his father-in-law, Gerald Hamilton of Ottawa; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Association, Inc., or Grandma's Corner.
