Rosary will be said on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel. Mr. Poss died Tuesday morning, December 27, at his home. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 2: "Illah Thompson 1919-2005 Funeral services for Illah Thompson, 86, Iola, were Wednesday, December 28, 2005, at Moran United Methodist Church with Pastor Michael McKee officiating. Interment was in Moran Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson died Saturday, December 24, at Windsor Place Nursing Home in Iola. Illah Thompson was born September 3, 1919, at Bronson, KS, the daughter of Odie and Lula (Turner) Pool. She attended country school at Blazing Star and South Fairview, graduating from Bronson High School in 1936. She attended Fort Scott Junior College and Pittsburg State College. Illah was a member of the Moran United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, sports, and music. Her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren's achievements in academics and athletics. Illah and Fred Thompson were married August 9, 1941, at Yuma, AZ. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1998. Mrs. Thompson was also preceded in death by her parents, Odie and Lula Pool; and her sisters, Hazel Pool and Lucile Heard. Illah is survived by her sons, Leon Thompson and wife Judy, Darrell Thompson and wife Sandy, and Larry Thompson and wife Linda, all of Iola; her daughters, Cheryl Welch and husband Bob of Moran, Nina Worthington of Mound City, Nita Hunt and husband Bob of Marysville, OH, and Linda Heffern and husband Chuck of Iola; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Music was provided by Grace Spencer, organist, and Lloyd Houk, soloist. Musical selections included 'On Eagle's Wings' and 'Peace In The Valley'. Casketbearers were Kent Thompson, Kurt Thompson, Brian Thompson, Breck Thompson, Chris Nelson, Michael Thompson, Jeff Thompson, Scott Welch, Chris Heffern, Clint Heffern, and Colton Heffern. Page 5, Column 3: "Louis Clarence Eads 1930-2005 Funeral services for Louis Clarence Eads, 75, Ottawa, were Thursday, December 22, 2005, at Dengel and Son Mortuary. Interment was in Hope Cemetery, Ottawa. Mr. Eads died Tuesday, December 20, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa. Louis Clarence Eads was born August 13, 1930, at Kansas City, KS, the son of Harry and Elva (Darringer) Eads. He grew up in Kansas City, KS, moving to Ottawa in 1975. He was employed by Gustin-Bacon, Kansas City, KS, in assembly from 1955 to 1968; Ransom Memorial Hospital in maintenance in the mid-1970's; Wolf Creek Power Plant in construction labor in the late 1970's and early 1980's; and Bendix King-Allied Signal as a machinist from 1985 until retirement in 1992. On January 20, 1951, Louis was united in marriage with Jo Ann Roberts in Kansas City, MO. She preceded him in death on March 9, 1968. On February 19, 1982, Louis was united in marriage with Jacqulyne Hollon in Ottawa. She survives of the home. Mr. Eads was also preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elva Eads; three brothers, two sisters, and two sons-in-law. Clarence is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Vickey Crowley-Logan and David Logan of Ottawa, his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Anita Eads of Dennison, TX, his daughters, Debbie Payne and Mary Ann Wisdom, both of Butler, MO, his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Curt Chaney of Ottawa, his son and daughter-in- law, Dennis and Teresa Eads of Ottawa, his son, Jason Niccum of Colorado, his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Ben Copeland of Dallas, TX, his daughter and companion, Julie Tomberlin and Marshall Silvey of Ottawa, his daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and C.J. Crawley of Ottawa, formerly of Garnett, and his daughters, Tracy Chambers, Kelie Kiefer, and Kathy Chambers, all of Ottawa; his sisters, Ruby Raw of Higginsville, MO, and Audrey Hand of Kansas City, KS; and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
