Interment is in Holy Angels Cemetery. Mr. Lickteig died Saturday, March 19, at his home. A Rosary was said Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Angels Church. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.” “Berniece Doering 1927-2005 Funeral services for Berniece Doering, 77, Garnett, were Monday, March 14, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mrs. Doering died March 10 at her home. Berniece Doering was born March 24, 1927, at Cadmus, the daughter of Cornelius V. and Pearl (McMichael) Stroup. She grew up in the Cadmus area, attending school at Cadmus, and graduating from Parker High School in 1945. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from the University of Kansas in 1949. Berniece and Henry H. Doering were married August 5, 1949, at Cadmus. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Salina for one and one half years where she taught school. They moved to Garnett in 1951, where she worked with her husband on their ranch and as a substitute teacher. Berniece was a member of P.E.O., belonging for 53 years. She was also a member of the Garnett Ladies Golf Association, Friends of the Library, and the KU Alumni Association. She was an avid golfer. Mrs. Doering was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Pearl Stroup; two brothers and one sister. Berniece is survived by her husband, Henry H. Doering, of the home; her sons, Steven B. Doering and his wife, Karen, of Garnett, and Michael C. Doering and his wife, Cindy, of Garden City; her grandchildren, Hank Doering and his wife, Laci, Greg Doering, Chris Doering, Randy Doering, Mark Doering, and Kristen Doering; and her brother Roy Stroup and his wife, Vivian, of Cadmus. Music was provided by Kristen Doering, pianist, and Jenell Hartman, vocalist. Musical selections included “The Lord’s Prayer” and “Hymn of Promise”. Casketbearers were Hank Doering, Greg Doering, Chris Doering, Randy Doering, Mark Doering, and Kristen Doering. The family suggests memorials to Cottey College. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 2: “Florence Annetta Troutman 1920-2005 Funeral services for Florence Annetta ‘Tootsie’ Troutman, 84, Parker, were Friday, March 18, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Interment was in Highland Cemetery, Parker. Mrs. Troutman died Tuesday, March 15, at Golden Heights Living Center. Florence Annetta Troutman was born May 5, 1920, at Parker, the youngest of five children born to Frank Ames and Alice Mae (Osburn) Chamberlain. She attended Liberty Country School and Parker High School, graduating with the Class of 1939. One of the highlights of her high school years was being the drum majorette with the Parker High School Band at the American Royal Parade in 1938. Tootsie and John William Troutman were married May 4, 1942, in East Los Angeles, CA. She worked for B.F. Goodrich while they lived in California and then they moved to Parker in 1945. At that time they bought a truck line. They lived in Parker until moving a quarter mile south of Parker in 1950, living there 45 years. She and her husband owned and operated Over the Road Trucking for more than 50 years. For more than 20 of those years, she drove a truck with John. They had celebrated 53 years of marriage before John preceded her in death on October 6, 1995. Mrs. Troutman was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Tootside is survived by her sister, Valeta Holloman, of Azle, TX; her brother-in-law, Loren Troutman and his wife, Marlene, of Wellsville, and her niece, Alveta Wilson of Parker, who were her primary care givers; and numerous other nieces, nephews, and many friends. Casketbearers were Phil Polley, Charlie Singer, Charlie Dunlop, Johnnie Mundell, Howard Hull, and Larry Holloman. Memorials may be made to Golden Heights Living Center.
