Weber 1941-2005 Funeral services for Joseph D. Weber, 64, Garnett, were Saturday, April 16, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Weber died Wednesday, April 13, at Olathe Medical Center. Joseph D. Weber was born January 15, 1941, at Garnett, the son of Melvin Dale and Esther Clarcia (Demoret) Weber. He worked for the City of Garnett as a power plant operator from 1971-1990. Joe enjoyed fishing and camping, as well as playing pool. He was a former member of the VFW in Garnett and the Eagles of Paola. Joe and Carol Jane Radcliffe were married July 29, 1967, at Nowata, OK. She preceded him in death on August 14, 1999. Mr. Weber was also preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Jo Morrison on March 6, 2005; and his step-sons, William Ray “Billy” Likes on June 20, 1979, and Ricky Dean Likes on November 19, 1983. Joe is survived by his step-daughters, Lucinda Egidy and her husband Paul of Olathe, Sheryl Likes of Ottawa; Lisa Mersman and her husband Rick of Greeley, and Linda Likes of Pittsburg; two grandchildren, 18 step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren. Music was provided by Jeanine Zentner, organist, and Scott Schulte, vocalist. Musical selections included “Because He Lives” and “Hymn Of Promise”. Casketbearers were Paul Egidy, Richard Mersman, Jason Morrison, Shawn Morrison, Melvin Weber, and Rick Weber. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 2: “Sister Mary Anna Landwehr, OSU 1914-2005 Funeral Mass for Sister Mary Anna Landwehr, OSU, 90, Paola, was Tuesday, April 12, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at the Ursuline Chapel in Paola. Sister Mary Anna died Saturday, April 9, at the Ursuline Motherhouse in Paola. Sister Anna was born Ida Marie Landwehr on October 20, 1914, at Sharon, KS, the daughter of John E. and Catherine (Strunk) Landwehr. She was received by the Ursuline Sisters of Paola as Sister Mary Anna on May 18, 1930, and made her final profession of vows on October 20, 1935. Sister Anna taught in Catholic schools in Kansas and Oklahoma for 38 years: Holy Name in Kansas City, KS, 1935-1939; St. Patrick’s in Paola, 1939-1944 and 1961-1962; Immaculate Conception in Tulsa, 1945-1946; St. John’s in Greeley (teacher and principal), 1946-1948; Holy Angels in Garnett (teacher and principal), 1948-1951; Queen of the Holy Rosary Overland Park (teacher and principal), 1951-1955; Ursuline Academy, 1955-1957; Holy Rosary Wea (teacher and principal), 1957-1961; and Bishop Miege High School (chemistry and mathematics) 1962-1973. When she retired from teaching, Sister Anna served as records secretary at Lakemary Center 1974-1985, then assisted in Catholic elementary schools as librarian and administrative assistant for several years. Later she returned to the Motherhouse where she performed community service until her illness these past two years. Sister Anna received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kansas State College at Pittsburg in 1951 and a Masters degree from Saint Mary College in Leavenworth in 1955. Preceding her in death were her parents, John and Catherine Landwehr; her brothers, Anthony, Nicholas, and Aloysius; and her sisters, Anna Donohue, Margaret Kratzburg, and Frances Thimesch. Sister Anna is survived by her sister, Joan Robinson of Garnett; her brother, Henry Landwehr of Wichita; many nieces and nephews; and her Ursuline Sisters. Sister Anna was a master teacher who held her students to high standards even while delighting them with her humor and creativity. She was loyal and steadfast in her faith and in her commitment to the Church, to her religious community, and to her family. She will be greatly missed. Interment was in Holy Angels Cemetery. Mrs. Brummel died Thursday, April 14, at Golden Heights Living Center in Garnett. Memorials may be made to Holy Angels or Golden Heights Living Center. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” “Monica Ann Zacher 1944-2005 Funeral Mass for Monica Ann Zacher, 61, Shawnee, were Monday, April 18, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery in Greeley. Mrs. Zacher died Monday, April 11 at her home. Monica Ann Zacher was born April 9, 1944, at Greeley, the daughter of Albert and Regina Huettenmueller. She moved to the Kansas City area in 1962 and went to work for Hallmark Cards. Monica and Robert Zacher were married June 17, 1967, and they made their homes in Overland Park and Shawnee. Monica worked for Queen of the Holy Rosary School for more than 25 years holding the position of Cafeteria Director until this year. Mrs. Zacher was preceded in death by her sister, Agnes Kueser. Monica is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughters, Sheryl Zacher of Overland Park and Kimberly Cashman and her husband Kim and their children, Allison and Patrick, of Overland Park; her brothers, Leo Huettenmueller of Carrollton, TX, Robert Huettenmueller of Greeley, and Paul Huettenmueller of Garnett. Monica cherished her family and grandchildren and found great joy in working with the children at Queen of the Holy Rosary. She will be loved and missed by many. The family suggests donation to the Ursuline Sisters of Paola or to Cancer Action.
