Gary Benjamin officiating. Cremation followed the service. Mr. Shellhorn died Wednesday, April 20, at his home. Richard Lee Shellhorn was born May 30, 1941, the son of Willard R. and Alice (Carlson) Shellhorn. He was a lifetime resident of the Harris area and graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1959. Richard received the Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts. He enjoyed the outdoors and farming, as well as woodworking. He worked as superintendent for the Water Department for the City of Richmond. Richard and Doris Marie Strough were married March 25, 1990, at Dodge City. She preceded him in death on December 17, 2002. Mr. Shellhorn was also preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Alice Shellhorn. Richard is survived by his daughters, Arlene Whitten and her husband, Tom, of Eudora, Jackie Shellhorn of Lenexa, and Brenda Brown and her husband, Mark, of Gilbert, AZ; his grandsons, Michael Whitten and Alex Whitten; and his granddaughter, Nicole Whitten. Musical selection included “Hello, Darling”, “Amazing Grace”, and “The Cowboy Rides Away”. Memorials may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous or the Boy Scouts of America. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” “Elaine Masingill 1927-2005 Memorial services for Elaine Masingill, 77, Garnett, were Saturday, April 23, 2005, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ann Loewe officiating. Mrs. Masingill died Thursday, April 21, at her home. A complete obituary will appear in the next Advocate. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 3: “Margaret Mary Raymond 1921-2005 Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret Mary Raymond, 84, Garnett, was Saturday, April 23, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scipio with Father Emil Agostino officiating. Lector was Shane Rockers. Presenting the gifts were Kasey Barton, Alissa Freeman, and Stacy Rockers. Mass Servers were Aaron and Heather Karlin. Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery. Mrs. Raymond died Tuesday, April 19, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Margaret Mary Raymond was born March 14, 1921, at Garnett, the daughter of Mike L. and Stella (Steinbacher) Rockers. She graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1939. Margaret was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and Altar Society. She enjoyed quilting. She worked for the law firm of Clark Howerton as a legal secretary before going to Washington, D.C. where she worked in the Pentagon from 1942 to 1943. After her marriage, she worked for S.R.S. for 33 years as a secretary and as an office manager, retiring in 1986. Margaret and Kenneth Raymond were married October 27, 1943, at Scipio. Mrs. Raymond was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Stella Rockers; her brothers, Louis Rockers and Leonard Rockers; and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Rockers and Rosalie Sneegas. Margaret is survived by her husband, Kenneth, of the home; her sister, Teresa Rockers of Greeley; her nephews, John Rockers of Duluth, GA, Gary Rockers of Burelson, TX, and Mike W. Rockers of Greeley; her nieces, Pam Karlin and Patti Haley, both of Baldwin City; and her sister-in-law, Rhoda M. Raymond of Garnett. Music was provided by Mary Milner, organist, and The Mader Family, vocalists. Musical selections included “On This Day O’Beautiful Mother”, “Amazing Grace”, “Prayer of St. Francis”, and “How Great Thou Art”. Casketbearers were Andrew Barton, Chris Haley, Gary Karlin, Gary Rockers, Mike Rockers, and Shawn Rockers. Memorials may be made to St. Boniface Catholic Church.
