Katrina Palan officiating. Interment was in Highland Cemetery. Mr. Fogle died Wednesday, April 20, at Village Plaza in Ottawa. Dan Fogle, Sr. was born August 26, 1903, at Baldwin City, the son of Arza Bracken and Alice S. (Scott) Fogle. When he was small, Dan’s family moved to the Williamsburg area, where he graduated from Williamsburg High School with the Class of 1921. He then moved to Ottawa in 1938. During his lifetime, he was a farmer, miner, business owner, inventor, and stone mason. In 1929, he founded Fogle Quarry and started hauling rock. After retiring from the quarry in 1964, he owned a saw mill and again started setting stone as a stone mason. Mr. Fogle attended First Christian Church of Ottawa, and was a member of Farm Bureau, Farm Co-op, and the National Rifle Association. Dan and Mildred Bernice Ashton were married September 2, 1931, at Ottawa. She preceded him in death on December 10, 2000. Mr. Fogle was also preceded in death by his parents, Arza and Alice Fogle; his sister, Rachel Fogle; and his brothers, Walter Fogle and Arza Fogle. Dan is survived by his sons, Dan Fogle, Jr., Richard Fogle, and Ted Fogle, all of Ottawa, Karl Fogle of Salida, CO, and John Fogle of San Diego, CA; his daughter, Kathy Fogle of Salida, CO; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorial contributions to the First Christian Church of Ottawa. Dengel and Son Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 2: “May Alice Cash 1908-2005 Funeral services for May Alice Cash, 96, Mound City, are Saturday, April 30, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Coffel Schneider Funeral Home in Mound City. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Mound City. Mrs. Cash died Tuesday, April 26, at Golden Heights Living Center. Coffel Schneider Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.” “Jerry Lee Schulte 1935-2005 A Celebration of Life for Jerry Lee Schulte, 69, Lubbock, TX, formerly of Garnett, was held Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 4:00 p.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Mr. Schulte died Friday, April 15. Jerry Lee Schulte was born July 9, 1935, at Iola, the son of Wendell and Hazel (Centlivre) Schulte. He spent his childhood living in Garnett, where he graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1953. Jerry earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emporia State University in 1957. Following graduation, he worked in the banking industry until moving to Lubbock in 1977. In 1983, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation hired Jerry to work at the branch office in Midland. Jerry and Jean O’Connell were married June 25, 1984, in Outray, CO. In 1990, the FDIC transferred Jerry to Hartford, CT, where he continued work until retiring in 1995. Jerry spent his leisure time playing golf until he was physically unable to play. Mr. Schulte was preceded in death by his parents, W.J. and Hazel Schulte; and his brother, Melvin Schulte. Jerry is survived by his wife, Jean, of Lubbock; his daughters, Jeri Anne Schulte and her husband, Phil Stojanik, and Gina Halle and her husband, Rick of Houston; his stepchildren, Sherry Wagner of Lubbock, and Mike Smith and his wife, Lynda of Dallas; his grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Christopher Stojanik, Theresa and Mark Halle, Jeremy and Benjamin Wagner, and Haley and Heather Smith; his brother, C.D. Schulte and his wife, Jane, of Garnett; his sisters, Myrna Boyles and Dixie Brummel, both of Garnett; and his sister-in-law, Rhoda Schulte, also of Garnett. Memorial contributions may be made in Jerry’s honor to Holy Angels School.” Page 5, Column 3: “Elaine Masingill 1927-2005 Memorial services for Elaine Masingill, 77, Garnett, were Saturday, April 23, 2005, at 4:00 p.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Ann Loewe officiating. Mrs. Masingill died April 21, at her home. Elaine Masingill was born April 29, 1927, at Augusta, the daughter of Lester Calvin and Ida Katherine (Kendall) Pitts. She was a graduate of Winfield High School. Elaine and Jerl D. Masingill were married July 13, 1949, at Newport, RI. After her marriage, she lived in Rhode Island, California, and Arizona before the family moved to the Dale and Shawnee, OK area for 20 years before moving to Garnett in 1984. Elaine worked as a bookkeeper and for various banks. After moving to Garnett, she was an associate for Pat Winfrey Real Estate, and worked for Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel as a visitation attendant. She was a member of the United Brethren Church in Garnett. Elaine was an avid bingo player. Mrs. Masingill was preceded in death by her husband, Jerl D. Masingill, in 1982; her son, James Masingill in February, 2005; her parents, Lester and Ida Pitts; and two bxrothers and one sister. Elaine is survived by her son, Rex Masingill of Shawnee, OK; her daughter, Patricia Masingill of Garnett; her grandchildren, Steve Masingill and Lisa Pope, both of Garnett, Sarah Masingill of Norman, OK, and John Masingill of Shawnee, OK; and her sister, Pat Winfrey of Garnett. Music was provided by Jeanine Zentner, organist, and Bill Craig, soloist. Musical selections included “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace”. The family suggests memorials to the United Brethren Church.
