Ledom 1922-2005 Funeral services for Gladys F. Ledom, 82, Ottawa, were Saturday, July 2, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at Dengel and Son Mortuary. Interment was in Princeton Cemetery. Mrs. Ledom died Thursday, June 30, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa. Gladys F. Ledom was born August 2, 1922, at Erie, the daughter of Oard H. and Artie E. (DeHart) Carrell. She attended school in Rantoul. Gladys was a nearly lifelong resident of Ottawa, having lived in Kansas City, KS, for a very short period of time after her marriage. She worked for Hercules Powder Plant in DeSoto as a line worker during World War II and the Vietnam War. She worked in quality control for Parmalee Products for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial Post #5901 Auxiliary, Ottawa. Gladys and Barney L. Ledom were married October 1, 1945, at Kansas City, KS. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1981. Mrs. Ledom was also preceded in death by her son, Terry Ledom; her parents, Oard and Artie Carrell; her sisters, Margaret E. O’Brien and Mable L. Marks; and her brother, Ernest A. Carrell. Gladys is survived by her son, Kenneth Ledom of Ottawa, her daughter, Betty Payne of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Deann Farrell, Cheri Gragg, Angela Clancy, and Nicole Ledom; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
