Archer 1922-2005 Funeral services for Robert W. Archer, 83, of Garnett, were Monday, August 15, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Gale Mack officiating. Interment was in Garnett Cemetery. Mr. Archer died Friday, August 12, at Golden Heights Living Center. Robert W. Archer was born in Garnett on July 2, 1922, the son of Ralph and Dorothy Archer. Bob graduated from Garnett High School. He spent his entire life in Anderson County with the exception of the three and one half years he served in World War II. Bob was in the insurance business in Garnett for 55 years and was a member of the Garnett Area Chamber of Commerce, where he also served as a board director. He was a lifelong member of the Garnett United Methodist Church, has served on the Church official board, and was involved in its youth work. Bob was a charter and life member of VFW Post #6397, a 59-year member of American Legion Post #48, a member of Masonic Lodge #44, and a 50-year member of IOOF Lodge #16 at Garnett. He also served on the boards of the Garnett Planning Commission, Anderson County Fair Board, and the Anderson County Historical Society Board. Bob and Kathryn Marilee Evans were married in October, 1940. They would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on October 29. This union was blessed with two daughters and one son. Mr. Archer was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy Archer, and his brother, John Archer. Bob is survived by his wife, Marilee, of the home; his daughters and their husbands, Diane and Rick Doran of Garnett and Farell and Duane Ping of Holiday Island, AR; his son and his wife, Douglass and Sue Archer of Garnett; his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Eric and Tracy Doran and daughters, Cassidy and Jenna of Shawnee, Evan and Lynn Doran and sons Aaron and Adam of Ottawa, Jason and Aleks Nokes and son, Loudon of Gardner, Jessilyn Nokes of Pittsburg, Erin and Eliah Bures of Berkeley, CA, and David Archer and Cory Archer of Garnett; and his sister, Betty Marshall of Eagle, ID. Music was provided by Rev. Dennis Matthews, pianist, and Tony Jasnowski, soloist. Musical selections included “Precious Lord”, “Take My Hand”, “The Lord’s Prayer”, “Just Beyond The Moon”, and “How Great Thou Art”. Casketbearers were Bob’s grandchildren, Eric Doran, Evan Doran, Jason Nokes, Jessilyn Nokes, Erin Bures, Robert David Archer, and Cory Archer. Honorary casketbearers were Jack Serene, Roy Cole, Bob McDaniel, Delwyn Horn, Carl Russell, Oscar Ellsworth, Harold Greg, Harold Achey, Harold Wolken, Bud Franker, Gary Beauchamp, and Paul Thornbrough. The family suggests memorials in Bob’s name to the Anderson County Hospital Foundation or First United Methodist Church. Fritz, 66, of Burlington, formerly of Garnett, were Saturday, August 13, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gary Benjamin officiating. Mr. Fritz died Tuesday, August 9, at Coffey County Hospital, Burlington. Joseph W. Fritz was born October 11, 1938, at Kansas City, KS, the son of Joseph W. and Lucille (Preston) Fritz Gerber. He grew up in Kansas City, KS, graduating from Turner High School in 1957. He served three years in the United States Air Force before returning to Kansas City, where he worked as a machinist before moving to Garnett in 1972. He worked as the Emergency Preparedness Director in Garnett before being elected Anderson County Clerk/Appraiser. In 1986, Joe moved to Burlington, where he worked as the Coffey County Appraiser until 1997. He was Past President of the Garnett JayCees and was a member of the Kansas Appraiser’s Association. Joe and JoAnn Smithey were married in 1960 at Kansas City, KS. Mr. Fritz was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lucille Fritz; and his brother, Frank Fritz. Joe is survived by his wife, JoAnn, of the home; his sons, Joseph W. Fritz and his wife, Sandie, of Garnett, and Tiffin Daniel Fritz and his wife, Angel, of New Strawn; his daughter, Christine Talley and her husband, Herk, of Burlington; his brother, Robert Fritz of Kansas City, KS; two step-brothers and two step-sisters; and 11 grandchildren. Musical selections included “Grandpa, You Lift Me Up To Heaven”, “Amazing Grace”, and “Leader Of The Band”. The family suggests memorials in Joe’s name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 3: “Frederick Huettenmueller 1931-2005 Mass of Christian Burial for Frederick Huettenmueller, 73, of Shawnee, KS, was Monday, August 15, 2005, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Greeley with Father Tony Lickteig officiating. Interment was in St. John’s Cemetery. Mr. Huettenmueller died Wednesday, August 10, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Frederick Huettenmueller was born November 16, 1931, at Greeley, the son of Reynold B. and Mary M. (Rues) Huettenmueller. He was raised in Greeley, graduating from Greeley High School before being drafted into the United States Army. He served as a Corporal from 1951 to 1953 in Korea. He was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Council #1901, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and Greeley VFW Post #4887. Fred and Patricia Joy Jerome were married April 26, 1952, at Fort Ord, CA. He lived in Greeley until 1964, moving to Paola, and then to Shawnee. Mr. Huettenmueller is survived by his wife, Patricia Joy Huettenmueller of Shawnee; his sons, Jim Huettenmueller and his wife, Susan, of Bartlesville, OK, and John Huettenmueller and his wife, Renee, of Shawnee; his daughters, Mary Pat Foster and her husband, Rick, of Shawnee, Joan Huettenmueller of Bartlesville, OK, Janet Huettenmueller of Kansas City, MO, Jean Fanning and her husband, Louis, of Palatine, IL, and Julie Langdon and her husband, David, of Olathe; his sisters, Renee Nathan and her husband, Charlie, of Escondido, CA, Mary Lou Wiederholt of Greeley, and Carolyn Busby of San Diego, CA; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Music was provided by Jeanine Zentner, organist, and Scott Schulte, soloist. Musical selections included “How Great Thou Art”, “In The Garden”, “On Eagle’s Wings”, and “I Did It My Way”.
