Johnson 1920-2005 Graveside inurnment services for Miriam B. Johnson, 85, Ottawa, were Friday, October 7, 2005, at Osawatomie Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson died Tuesday, October 4, at Richmond Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. Miriam B. Johnson was born August 5, 1920, at Osawatomie, the daughter of Eugene E. and Emily Mae (Coffelt) Potter. She grew up and lived in Osawatomie until moving to Little Rock AR, in 1941. She graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1938. Miriam followed her husband’s military career, returning to Osawatomie in 1946. She moved to Paola in 1953, to Princeton in 1975, and then to Ottawa in 1985. She was a homemaker and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Osawatomie. Miriam and Edger Johnson were married January 17, 1941, at Osawatomie. He survives, of their home. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Emily Potter; and her son-in-law, Harold Edwards. Miriam is also survived by her daughter, Loretta Edwards of Garnett; her son, Rick Johnson of Greeley; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa, was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 2: “Karlena Branson 1969-2005 Funeral services for Karlena Branson, 35, Richmond, were Friday, October 7, 2005, at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Interment was in Highland Cemetery. Mrs. Branson died Monday, October 3, at her home. Karlena Branson was born November 26, 1969, at Ottawa, the daughter of Dave and Janet S. (Johnson) Diamond. She was a lifelong Franklin County resident. She made her home in Richmond until her death due to her diabetes illness. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the Class of 1988. She attended Superior School of Hairstyling in Olathe. She held various jobs and was a stay-at-home mom. Karlena attended Ruhamah Baptist Church in Rantoul. In 1989, Karlena was united in marriage with Craig Coulson at Pomona. They later divorced. On February 27, 1999, Karlena was united in marriage with Mike Branson at Princeton. He survives, of their home. Mrs. Branson was preceded in death by her mother, Janet S. Diamond. Karlena is also survived by her father and his wife, Dave and Joan Diamond of Ottawa; her step-mother, Dea Diamond of Princeton; her daughter, Saidee Coulson of Rantoul; her stepdaughters, Michelle Branson of Ottawa, Christina Branson of Manhattan, and Julie Moore of Olathe; her sister, Lori Gould of Windsor, CO; her stepbrothers, Tim Diamond of Ottawa and Ty Johnson of Reno, NV; her stepsisters, Wendy Hamilton and Ginger Markley, both of Ottawa, and Teal Hermreck of Pomona; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to Karlena Branson’s Children’s Education Fund. Dengel and Son Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.” Page 5, Column 3: “George Robert ‘Bob’ Pease 1924-2005 Funeral services for George Robert ‘Bob’ Pease, 81, Shenandoah, IA, were Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at B.P.O.E. Elk Club #1122 in Shenandoah with Rev. Fred Bryson officiating. Interment was in Locust Grove Cemetery outside of Shenandoah. Mr. Pease died Saturday, September 24, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha. George Robert Pease was born September 18, 1924, at Shenandoah, IA, the son of Glenn Ray and Ruby Viola (Bangs) Pease. He grew up on the family farm south of Shenandoah in Locust Grove Township. Bob attended the Alma Mater School of Locust Grove and graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1942. Following high school, he attended Tarkio College in Tarkio, MO, where he was a member of the football team. After a year of college, he enlisted as an M.P. (military police) in the United States Army during World War II. Following his service to his country, he returned home to farm in Locust Grove Township. Bob was united in marriage to Martha Miller in the 1940’s. They later divorced. On December 16, 1963, he was united in marriage to Shirley Schnoor in Hot Springs, AR. She survives, of the home. Bob was a 61-year member of American Legion Post #88, a 51-year member of B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge #1122, and a longtime member of the Masonic Temple. He enjoyed playing golf, reading, playing cards, and socializing with friends. Mr. Pease was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Ruby Pease; his sister, Phyllis (Pease) Williamson; and two infant sons. Bob is also survived by his children, Nancy York and her husband, Bill, of Essex, IA, Marti Gigstad and her husband, Bobb, of Garnett, Robb Pease and his wife, Barbara, of Castle Rock, CO, Marilyn Gable and her husband, Dan, of Papillon, NE, and Mark Supernaw and his wife, Sandra, of Farragut, IA; his grandchildren, James York and his wife, Tara, Christopher and Michael Gigstad, Lisa and Lindsay Pease, Josh Meyer, Amy Brent, Craig Parent, Morgan Tysor, and Jake and Sam Supernaw; and other relatives and many friends.
