Mrs. Kruse died Thursday, October 6, at her home. Elaine Kruse was born March 13, 1938, at Richmond, the daughter of Fred and Hilda (Hermreck) Pickert. She graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1955. Since 1971, she had lived in Olathe where she worked as a clerk for the Johnson County courthouse. Elaine and Harold Kruse were married in 1957. He preceded her in death in 2004. Mrs. Kruse is survived by her sons, David Kruse of Garnett and Philip Kruse of Glen Ridge, NJ; her daughters, Karen Forsyth of Olathe and Julie Kruse of Kansas City, MO; her grandchildren, Erin and Jordan Kruse of Garnett; Sarah, Katie, and Rebecca Kruse of Glen Ridge, NJ; and Zachary and Mallory Forsyth of Olathe; her brothers, Ken Pickert of Grove, OK, Gerald Pickert of Richmond, and Leon Pickert of Lawrence; and her sisters, Rosalie Waner and Betty McArdle, both of Lawrence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Cancer Action, 1831 Minnesota Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.” Page 3, Column 4: “Patrick Egidy 1960-2005 Mass of Christian Burial for Patrick Egidy, 45, Greeley, is Saturday, October 15, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Greeley. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Mr. Egidy died Tuesday, October 11, at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe. A wake service will be held Friday evening, October 14, at 7:00 p.m. at the church with family to be present to greet friends afterwards. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.” “Eugene M. ‘Gene’ Stevenson 1932-2005 Funeral services for Eugene M. ‘Gene’ Stevenson, 72, Wellsville, were Monday, October 10, 2005, at Dengel and Son Mortuary in Ottawa. Interment was in Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul. Mr. Stevenson died Thursday, October 6, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. Eugene M. Stevenson was born December 8, 1932, at Richmond, the son of Merton Ralph and Dorothy M. (Macklin) Stevenson. He graduated from Rantoul High School with the Class of 1951. He had lived in Wellsville since 1978. Previous to that, he had lived in Hillsdale for eight years and in Kansas City, MO, from 1956-1970. He was an electrician for Kornfeld-Thorpe Electric in Kansas City, MO, for 38 years, and Mid-America Electric in Lenexa for eight years, retiring in 1997. Gene served in the United States Army during the Korean War in the early 1950’s, attaining the rank of Sergeant. Gene and Marguerite Roberts were married November 3, 1956, at Kansas City, MO. She survives, of their home. Mr. Stevenson was preceded in death by his parents, Merton and Dorothy Stevenson; his brothers, Dick Stevenson and Bobby Stevenson; and his sister, Nellon Stevenson. Gene is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ralph E. ‘Gene’ and Leanne Stevenson of Paola; his daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Kyle Dye of Paola, and his son and daughter-in-law, Mark A. and Rachal Stevenson of Wellsville; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Jean Stevenson of Marshfield, MO; his sisters, Betty Stevenson and Becky Stevenson, both of Rantoul; his sisters and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Carl Waltman of Pomona and Phyllis and Lee Johnson of Rantoul; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
