“Sharon A. Brady

1943-2005

Funeral services for Sharon A. Brady, 62, Garnett, formerly of Ottawa, were Wednesday,

October 26, 2005, at Dengel and Son Mortuary, Ottawa.  Interment was in Mt. Calvary

Cemetery.  Mrs. Brady died Sunday, October 23, at Olathe Medical Center.

Sharon A. Brady was born June 26, 1943, at Garnett, the daughter of Nick and Odelia (Bowman)

Hermreck.  She graduated from Garnett High School with the Class of 1961.  She lived in Ottawa

40 years, moving to Garnett in May of 2005.

Sharon was a homemaker.  In the 1970’s, she worked as a seamstress for H.D. Lee and Mode

O’Day, both in Ottawa.  From 1984 to 1995, she owned and operated a private club in Ottawa

called The Spot.  In 1997, she became employed as a cook in the kitchen for Wal-Mart

Distribution in Ottawa, retiring in 2002.  She was a current member of Aerie Lodge #2700,

Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary of Ottawa.

Sharon and Michael Stuart ‘Mike’ Brady were married October 30, 1982, at Ottawa.  He

preceded her in death on September 18, 2004.

Mrs. Brady was also preceded in death by her son, Robert Brady; her daughter, Debbie Russell;

her parents, Nick and Odelia Hermreck; and her brother, Bob Hermreck.

Sharon is survived by her children, Sandra and Terry Zook of Garnett, Todd and Lee Ann Brady

of Ottawa, Stacy and Marvin Sykes of Hominy, OK, Brett Brady and his companion, Antoinette

Lana, of Ottawa, and Scott Brady; her brother and wife, Bill and Norma Hermreck of

Osawatomie; her sister and husband, Ruth and Harold Zwiener of Garnett; and her grandchildren,

Justin and Erin Zook, Dallas Zook, B.J. Cotton, Fonda Cotton, Shawn Sykes, Shara Sykes,

Robert L. Brady, and Derek Lana.

The family suggests memorials to Franklin County Cancer Foundation.

Dengel and Son Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.”
