November 18, 2005 The ADVOCATE Serving Anderson, Southern Franklin and Western Linn Counties Volume 9, No. 92 Transcribed with permission of Vern Brown Page 5, Column 1: “Lloyd James Ward 1937-2005 Funeral services for Lloyd James Ward, 68, Colony, were Monday, November 14, 2005, at Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapels in Colony with Pastor Steve Bubna officiating. Interment was in Colony Cemetery. Mr. Ward died Thursday, November 10, 2005, at his home. Lloyd James Ward was born November 7, 1937, in Oklahoma, the son of Henry Lloyd and Alice Jane (Clymer) Ward. He moved to Colony when he was four years old. Jim graduated from Colony High School with the Class of 1956. Following high school he served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. He lived in LeRoy from 1960 to 2002 when he moved to Colony. Jim farmed in addition to his job at the LeRoy Co-op elevator, where he worked for more than 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking and adding to his collections. Jim and Jane Nauertc were married August 9, 1959, at LeRoy. This union was blessed with two children. She survives of the home. Mr. Ward was preceded in death by his father, Henry Lloyd Ward. Jim is also survived by his son, Coy Del Ward and his wife, Lisa, of Aurora, OH; his daughter, Earlene Morton of Hamilton, MT; his brothers, Bob Ward of Topeka, and Charles Ward and Larry Ward, both of Colony; his sister, Danny Burgin of Hill City, SD; his mother, Alice Ward of Garnett; his brother-in-law, Bob Nauertc of LeRoy; his grandchildren, Eric, Shannon, Stacy, Isabel, Russell, Clayton, Livia, Christian, and Abigail; and his great-grandchildren, Victoria, Laura, and Austin. Musical selections included ‘Peace In The Valley’ and ‘Riders In The Sky’. Casketbearers were Bill Godell, Bobby Nauerte, Dana Nauerte, Eric Newkirk, Wes Sherwood, and Bob Varvel.
