Interment was in Big Creek Cemetery, Quinter. Mrs. Johnson died Tuesday, November 15, at Gove County Medical Center, Quinter. Arlene Ellen Johnson was born May 19, 1965, at Iola, the daughter of Donald and Ellen (Flory) Garber. Growing up, she attended schools in Waverly. She was a member of Old German Baptist Church in Quinter. Arlene was a homemaker. Arlene and Philip A. Johnson were married July 20, 1991, at her parents’ home. He survives of their home. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her brother, Matthew Garber in 1968. Arlene is also survived by her son, Justin Johnson of Quinter; her daughter, Marisa Johnson of Quinter; her parents, Donald and Ellen Garber of Waverly; her brother, Mark Garber and his wife Cheryl of Waverly; her sisters, Elizabeth Graybill and her husband Raymond of Athens, WI, Esther Cardin and her husband Lynn of Waverly, and Sarah Garber and Rachel Garber, also of Waverly; and seven nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorial contributions to Gove County Hospice or Arlene Johnson’s Children’s Education Fund and may be sent in care of Schmitt Funeral Home, 901 South Main, Quinter, KS 677652.
