Lickteig 1917-2005 Funeral Mass for Rose P. Lickteig, 88, Seward, NE, formerly of Garnett, was Monday, December 12, 2005, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Fathers Norbert Lickteig and Brian Klingele concelebrants. Interment was in Holy Angels Cemetery. Mrs. Lickteig died Wednesday, December 7, at Seward. Rose P. Lickteig was born February 6, 1917, at Greeley, the daughter of Frank and Josephine (Beckman) Gellhaus. She grew up and went to school in Greeley through the eighth grade. She had four brothers and two sisters. Rose was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and Altar Society. She attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Bee, NE, and currently attended St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in Seward. She had lived in Nebraska with her son, Larry, since 1994. Rose and Lawrence Joseph Lickteig were married November 17, 1938, at Garnett. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1978. They lived in the Garnett area and raised two children. Mrs. Lickteig was also preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Josephine Gellhaus; her brothers, Leo Gellhaus, Theodore Gellhaus, and Bernard Gellhaus; and her sisters, Cecelia Rues and Sister Josephine Gellhaus. Rose is survived by her son, Larry Lickteig of Seward, NE; her daughter, Betty Becker and her husband, Steven of Mountain Home, AR; and her grandchildren and their spouses, Bradley and Suzanne Becker of Red Wood, CA, Heather Armstrong of Omaha, NE, and Tracy and Scott Plautz of Lincoln, NE. Music was provided by Sue Hardman, organist, and Bill Craig, soloist. Casketbearers were Scott Plautz, Kevin Gellhaus, John Gellhaus, Sean Gellhaus, Brad Becker, and Jim Lickteig. The family suggests memorials to the donor's choice in care of the family. Farris-Feuerborn Memorial Chapel was in charge of arrangements." Page 5, Column 4: "Ralph Irwin Kelsey, Sr. 1924-2005 Mass of Christian Burial for Ralph Irwin Kelsey, Sr., 81, LaCygne was Friday, December 9, 2005, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mound City. Interment was in St. Boniface Cemetery, Scipio. Mr. Kelsey died Tuesday, December 6, at Olathe Medical Center, Olathe, KS. Ralph Irwin Kelsey, Sr. was born November 2, 1924, at Greeley, the second child of Bryan and Vona (Sizemore) Kelsey. He graduated from Greeley High School and entered military service in 1942. He served with the Army Air Corp as a gunner on the B29 aircraft in photo reconnaissance over Japan. On November 20, 1947, Ralph and Hermena Mersman were married. She survives, of the home. Ralph was employed with Remington Arms in Independence and Haas Reality Maintenance. He was a fireman for 22 years for Sugar Creek, MO, and was also an auxiliary police officer for Sugar Creek, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City, the American Legion Hewitt New Post of Mound City, and the VFW in Sugar Creek. Mr. Kelsey was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Rae Perkins, who died in 1986; his parents, Bryan and Vona Kelsey; and two brothers, Tom Kelsey and an infant brother, Glen Kelsey. Ralph is also survived by his sons, Ralph Kelsey, Jr., of Phoenix, AZ, Leon and John Kelsey, both of Independence, MO, Joseph and Jeff Kelsey, both of Sugar Creek, MO, and Greg Kelsey of Belton, MO; his daughters, Vona Marie Lathrum of Phoenix, AZ, Joan Gray of Columbia, MO, and Kristine Bridgeman of Liberty, MO; his brothers, Ned Kelsey of Mound City, Karl Kelsey of Ottawa, and Lowell Kelsey of Topeka; his sister, Emelyn Rice of Paola; 27 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or St. Ann's Catholic School. Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City, was in charge of arrangements."
