DUREN/HOUSTON

In August 1864, Warren [no known surname] a negro who worked for D.W. Houston, was hung without benefit of a court trial for murdering Adaline Duren. This murder and hanging was recorded in The History of Anderson County, Kansas from its 1st settlement to the 4th of July 1876, by W.A. Johnson. I'm wondering where Warren was buried or what otherwise would have happened to his body in 1864? D.W. Houston was my great, great grandfather so this story has always held a particular fascination for me.
